Paid alot of money to find out (2) 8 millimeter bolts were not tightened properly one was broken inside and held by 3 threads the other worked it's way out. Topham could of fixed that broken bolt they broke inside and instead covered it up figured it will hold ...Car was having timing issues and no oil pressure...not many customers would take down the engine and try to find out why or what happen and it was worth it for me because I took very good care of the cars original engine . What got Ruined the main bearings, rear camshafts and bearing was getting bound up, timing chain was having too much slack from oil escaping from behind chain tensioner. Oil pressure keeps chain tension on chain guides. Well oil was flooding out because of the two bolts that were not doing there job literally a hack job on their part.so disappointing because of this we had to go without this car for months ....this engine was destined to fail when it left Topham garage. And it did! At first I thought oil pump but took that off as well was not the oil pump.
The whole engine was taken apart to the block itself pistons crank everything all of it points to the chain tensioner all of it !!
I paid Topham almost $2000 to do a job and in return my engine because of them gets ruined.
The engine was in time going to lock up and seize. From lack of oil pressure. I give them a job to do pay them and I get screwed.
All Brian wanted to do was replace the engine $5000 and other opinion $8000.
Even though Brian says it's only been a year and this happened.
Either he's one of those mechanics and he knew about this and figured by the time it goes bad it buys him time to say the engine has high miles. And he gets to put a used motor for more money that he makes out on.
I'm out $2300 for a used engine I had shipped from up State New York.
Another $1000 or so for parts.
$2000 for labor.
And just frustration like you wouldn't believe after finding out for myself ...
Remember most of you would just take his word and have him replace the engine.
I say DO NOT trust him or his shop to work on your car or truck..
