I can't say enough positive things about the experience we had working with Mike Toal on the selection and design process for new cabinets in our kitchen. He was both extremely knowledgeable and beyond patient as we worked though several iterations of the design. Mike takes a ton of pride in the way he engages with clients and we couldn't be happier with the final selection and layout of our new kitchen.

We reached out to Mid Cape for replacement windows last year. Our windows were original to our house which was built in 1910 - single pane glass so they were very drafty, and the weights used to keep the window up had separated so we had to jam something under them to keep them open. With a baby on the way, we wanted to replace the windows to make them safer and more cost effective. When the estimator came we relayed these two reasons as our motivation for replacing our windows. After looking at our existing windows he informed us that we would need to get brand new windows - that replacement windows were not an option with our particular house. The expense was much higher but we thought, he's the expert, so we purchased new windows. He gave us instructions for the person installing the windows to confirm they would fit.We reached out to someone to install the windows, and they came to confirm the sizes. They had some questions about the windows so they reached out to the estimator who never responded. We were in a time crunch since we wanted the windows installed before the baby came, and there was a 6 month wait for the windows to come in.The date we were promised the windows would be delivered by came and went, so we reached out to the Mid Cape estimator who replied that they windows came in last week. He didn't bother to reach out to us to tell us that, and we had booked our installer to come the day after they would be delivered so we had to postpone the installation further because of the unresponsiveness of the Mid Cape estimator. We finally get the windows delivered, the installers come, and informed us immediately that the windows are going to cost double to install from their original estimation because they are windows designed for new home construction, not replacement windows for our house built in 1910. We told them that we had been informed by the Mid Cape estimator that we had to install new windows - that our house wouldn't accept replacement windows - and they informed us that was not true, that any house can accept replacement windows, and that this miscommunication was due to the Mid Cape estimator essentially overselling us and then disappearing when they were trying to confirm the window sizing. We reached out to the estimator, who belligerently denied any wrongdoing and finally connected us with someone else at the company to help. I had a very long back and forth with this person, who essentially told us it was both our fault and the installer's fault for this issue. He took no responsibility for the estimator telling us we couldn't get replacement windows, he used a lot of semantics to insist that we simply were confused - which, of course we were, we know absolutely nothing about windows and that's why we rely on experts to help us and not rip us off.Ultimately I was rushed to the hospital to give birth, and took several weeks to reply to the latest message from the unhelpful person at Mid Cape. I never heard from him again. We spent an additional $5,000 on this project and we lost the historical window trim original to our house because we were told we needed new construction windows. We were hoping for an apology and some form of reimbursement (any amount, like even just the commission the estimator earned off of us) from Mid Cape but again, they stopped responding and were not willing to apologize. The whole point of this very long story is that if you do want replacement windows, don't let an expert tell you that's not possible. If they do, go find another more honest source for replacement windows.

Don't handle business the correct way. Treat their clients poorly, work can be well done but talking to these guys is like talking to a brick wall. No morals, will cut corners to save money. prioritize sense of self, no idea how their poor decisions to cut corners and save money can negatively impact others.
