Trying to pay your bill on the phone is practically impossible. You have to repeat yourself several times, even with a representative. Calls are dropped, defective automatic system that cuts you off as your inputting card info making you start the process from the beginning. I've been asking for paperless billing for three years, still waiting. Was locked out of my online account for months, requests for assistance ignored. Absolutely horrible.

I don’t even know where to start with the issues I’ve had with AmeriGas. Our account was transferred over when we bought our house. We were told we had a certain amount of propane which was very incorrect because we completely ran out. AmeriGas told me they’d send someone within 24 hours which never happened. I had to call three days in a row and then a supervisor told me I would have to pay $300 for an emergency delivery even though it was 20 degrees out since we live in Massachusetts?? She thought I might have had a propane leak as well but told me I wasn’t going to charged for that service since I wasn’t given any of the proper information when our account was transferred. I was told that someone would call to tell me when they were arriving which never happened and then AmeriGas showed up to my house with no warning at 6:30 in the morning and I was still charged $220 for the leak check. I am switching companies.

Completely terrible company! Do not work with these people. Took months to get a delivery. They "guaranteed" delivery within a month. They tell you it will be a few days but they never show. When the 30 day time limit is up they just cancel your order without saying anything. You then have to place a new order and start another 30 day clock. They did this to us several times until we found a new company. Petro with tank farm and they are great!. Amerigas left their tanks in my yard for a whole year then tried to charge meagain!

Worse company ever! Avoid them like the plague. They promised a 10 calendar day window for delivery of gas. We were in an out-of-gas situation so they required us to be at home. We were told four days in a row that they were coming to deliver gas. They missed all four days. On the 10th day they could not tell us when they would deliver gas and that we were not scheduled on a route. In addition, they charge a yearly fee for the tank when there competitors do not. They also charge $1.20 more than there competitors. Osterman is charging me $3.299 for gas while AmeriGas is charging $4.50. Osterman is also giving me a free tank. I was told by multiple supervisors at AmeriGas that they would honor the $3.299 fee especially since they had missed delivery four days in a row. They came back telling me that they would no longer honor the $3.299 fee and that they would schedule a pickup of their tank.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!!! THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED BUT WHEN YOU CALL THEM TO CONFIRM IT, THEY DON’T HAVE A RECORD OF YOUR APPOINTMENT AND OF COURSE NO ONE SHOWS UP! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! HAD TO GIVE THEM 1 STAR IN ORDER TO POST THIS REVIEW, OTHERWISE IT WOULD BE MINUS 10 STARS. USE ANYONE BUT THEM!!!

We ordered propane on Monday 10/25 and were told they would deliver by Friday 10/29. Wednesday 10/27 we lose power and are on whole home generator. We call them today (Friday) and they say they can’t deliver today unless we pay A $300 EMERGENCY CHARGE. They broke their promise and it’s their emergency, not ours. Not impressed with Amerigas trying to now take advantage. You have been warned.

Horrendous, terrible service. After a two month process we still do not and cannot confirm that we are scheduled to receive a new propane tank. Several appointments have been made yet when my husband calls the night before to confirm, they say there’s nothing in the books or on the schedule. At this point we are out of propane and therefore out of hot water. This has been going on, again, for two months. It’s absurd. The only consolation they will offer is to escalate our complaint… Not To urgently reschedule our appointment for as soon as possible. And now they’re telling us it’s another two weeks out because they are short on technicians. Again two months. This is not service. Avoid at all cost.

I would discourage anyone from giving business to AmeriGas. I signed up for auto-refills, thinking it would be a simple way to guarantee I would never run out of propane. They neglected to track my propane levels and now my tank is at zero. Instead of immediately sending someone out to fill my tanks, they told me they would try to get someone here in the next 72 hours, which seems unreasonable to me. Customer service has proven disappointing. Please sign up for propane through any other company.

Ran out of propane on New Years Eve. (My fault, I should have kept better track of tank level.) $300 charge on top of the Per gallon price to get someone out in 24hrs, and $200 for within 72 hours. Or I can wait up to 10 days without cooking or hot water. So what would have cost me $365 would now cost $565/$665. I solved the problem though. They are scheduled to remove their tank from my property. I should have done this years ago. This was just the straw that broke the back, but their has been a hay bale worth over the last 5 years. Screw Amerigas. The only American part of Amerigas is the Greed!
