I am certainly not one to bash a business but I will literally NEVER use Budget Car Rental EVER. I booked a 26' moving truck on 12/20, 2 full weeks ahead of time, received multiple confirmation emails, etc. Went down to Methuen today to pick up and they say "I don't have a 26' truck, haven't had one for months." The guy calls customer service as we're calling other Budget places in the area and I tell him "I know this isn't your fault so I'm not going to take it out on you but this is unacceptable". To which he replies, "yeah well, it's your responsibility to call customer service but I'm trying to help, I have a lot of shit to do and this is taking up my time". Like ok guy, maybe you should have called me since you KNEW I was coming and KNEW you haven't had the truck "for months". Budget's Customer Service said "sorry for the inconvenience, well have someone call you back within 2 hours". Please tell me how that's helpful at all when you say you have no trucks available in that size?! RUDE. Inconsiderate. Terrible customer service. Luckily I got the same size truck for the same time from UHaul at half the price (Budget was going to charge $530 and UHaul charged $250)

Less than 24 hours before our move across the country an unprofessional jackass from this location calls us and tells us even though we've had a reservation with them for about a month, they do not and will not have a moving truck available. He gave us an 800 number to call and told us, "Oh well! Not my problem!" Thanks for making an already stressful time more stressful.

This place is an absolute joke. Reserved a truck to move cross country over a month ago, they call the day before saying they don't have one and can I go with a smaller truck or change my dates. What's the point of a reservation? No help at all, just got told to call customer service as they are not part of Budget. Staff was rude and unprofessional.

Not wasting my time with them any more. Better rates than uhaul but most of the time I've tried to use them they do not have the truck I RESERVED. complete waste of time

These people are dishonest. They charged me for hundreds more miles than I drove. When I called, they refused to admit their mistake and correct the bill. Don't bother trying to deal with them. Go somewhere else---or, better yet, go with a different truck company altogether.

If i could i would give them 0 star. Worst experience ever, Dont do business with BUDGET at all PERIOD!!!!!!!! First of all this office has 2 clowns working here that gave me a truck with 1 of the back inner tire flat, I didn't realize it till the next morning at 5am when we where heading out to florida that my wife was following behind the truck and she notice it minutes into our trip. I pulled over and notice the inner back tire really messed up. We tried to call for help and no one picked up, not the office not costumer service, So I decided to keep driving till the office opened around 8:30-9 am. finally we talk to someone from BUDGET and get instructed to pull over at a truck stop and they where going to send someone to replace the tire for us,Ok we do so. BUDGET tell us not to worry about it and that they were not going to charge me for the back inner tire.5 months later a claim adjuster from ohio is calling me with a claim # charging me $451.80 for BUDGET 2 clowns working out of this office giving me a truck with a blown inner back tire. *******NEVER DOING BUSINESS WITH BUDGET AGAIN*********************

I typically do not spend the time posting a review for anything, however this place is so BAD I feel compelled to warn anyone that might need to rent a truck from the BUDGET side of this business. I picked up a 24' truck for a 900 mile move. The manager Vlad was OK when I stopped in 2 days before the P/U to confirm. All down hill from there! At pick up the guy working the counter had an issue with the computer system (think it was operator related). The 2nd guy who did the existing damage inspection with me was about as welcoming as a cold toilet seat. He walked around pointed, grunted, and marked up the inspection form, then handed it to me to sign. I asked a question, which was promptly answered with another grunt. Tried again, same response. There was significant damage to the rear bumper, making it almost impossible to climb in, if you were not using the ramp. I questioned, another grunt. The cab was beyond DISGUSTING, spent a 1/2 hour just to clean to a point where it was bearable to sit in. However, the cab was clean compared to the cargo area. Floor covered with debris and it smelt like rotten food. When I turned it in at my destination, the agent could not believe it was rented in it's condition. O ya the expert grunter handed me two set's of keys. Turns out the 2nd set was for a rental car. When I realized it I called, Vlad told me to throw them away, they thought they had lost them and had news keys made. 1 star because there isn't a option for none or negative stars. I know someone who rented from Budget, picked up in Salem NH and it was fine. Go there!

This is the worst rental place on earth. I reserved my car 10 days before pick up, and when I showed up a rude guy claimed he did not have my car ad just expected me to walk out happy. I could not find nay other rental car because it was sunday and all Budget did was return my money. They took more then one week to return it and I had to call twice to remind them where my money was. Don't recommend this to anyone!

Horrible experience. Planned my move around a particular date which I reserved a truck a week in advance, giving them my credit card number. A day before the date I was supposed to pick up the rental, I called in to check my reservation and they told me no trucks were available and that "someone" should have called to tell me (which they didnt). Incompetent customer service, no follow through and a "tough luck" attitude...I'm using Uhaul instead next time
