The only difference between H&R Block and Turbo Tax is H&R cost about $150 more. Went here with lots of questions and I felt like I knew more than the consultant.

This company is awful. I have been having issues getting into my online account, and H & R Block has done nothing to help me get back in. I did my taxes online with H & R Block for 2020, and when I attempted to get back into my account to file my 2021 taxes I was not allowed. I changed my phone number to a new one, and yet when I tried to confirm my identity, they sent codes to my old number (without the option to send codes to a new phone or an email). I am unable to do my taxes, and the people that work at the branch are gas lighting me and saying I have never done my taxes with H & R Block. While I wish that was true it is not...

My tax lady Heather was fine. Helpful and kind. It was the front desk that threw me off. I always speak on the phone in a positive and polite manner, however the woman who spoke with me was rude. She made the call very unpleasant and all I was trying to do was literally pick up my 'completed tax forms'. that is all nothing extra, no appointments or anything like that. I work a very tough work schedule as I am a health care worker, so I asked if my partner could pick them up for my convenience since I live in Watertown. I understand that because of security reasons it was important I was there, however she was rude about it and was being difficult in finding a reasonable solution. She also stated, "if you live in Watertown, why did you even come here?" ... why was that even a question? I can go wherever I please, and my friends and family happened to have gone there and referred me. She then proceeded to call me later stating my partner could pick up my taxes if he had my ID but at that point it was too late and he was already on his way to pick up his. He stated that when he got there she mumbled something rude under her breath and was not pleasant to him as well. I am not one to write bad reviews or complain, however this really bothered me. We weren't trying to make this difficult or anything, we were only trying to pick up our possessions.

The lady who did my and my parters taxes made many mistakes. Out tax refund was put on a 10 week hold in order to verify and correct some of the information. When I finally got my taxes the IRS provided me a list of mistakes. One of the things on the list was incorrect age and spelling of the name of a dependant. Another mistake was incorrect social security number of a dependant. There were also several other mistakes on the list. Between the two of us we paid almost $1,000 to file our taxes with H&R block. I will be using turbo tax this year. Thanks.

This place is absolutely horrible. I had done the website upload on 4/20; by 5/10 I haven't heard anything. I called and they can't find my file. The call gets dropped, they're moving computers asking me what my name is a million times. Completely unprofessional. After 10 minutes they can't find me, can't find my documents... tells me the person that the website uploaded my documents tok doesn't work after the filing season as if I'm supposed to mysteriously know this?? Horrible. Now it's 8 days until filing and I need to start all over. Do. Not. Go. Here. At. All.

I used to go to H&R Block over 8 years ago, and decided to come back this year. However, because I am self-employed, it cost me almost $600. For someone who doesn't make over $50k a year, this is an exorbitant price. I will be sure to find a smaller company to go to next year that won't charge ridiculous fees. Also, I got COVID at the office. I was there for about 4 hours, and it was the only place i went besides 5 minutes each in local stores, and soon I got sick. So basically I paid $600 to get covid. I will not be returning next year.
