We hired Carlos and team for a kitchen gut remodel, taking down a wall and installing a structural support beam, and to gut both bathrooms and turn them from 1.5 bathrooms to 2 by installing a standup shower in the previously 1/2 only bathroom upstairs. The pictures are here which show the progress, we are extremely satisfied with the results!

Working with Ricardo Martin, Contractor has been a great experience. Ricardo works for Alcantara contractors. They were hired to combine two bathrooms into one making them universally accessible for aging in place. They consistently perform high-quality work and have done an absolutely beautiful job on our renovation. Ricardo is very easy to work with, trustworthy and has excellent interpersonal skills. For this reason, I decided to expand the renovation from the two bathrooms to the entire en suite. I am extremely happy and satisfied with the quality of the work for the entire project. Whenever I have a concern or a question, he is always willing to listen carefully. Most importantly, he never gets defensive and always listens with a true spirit of problem-solving. He is eager to find a resolution and willing to compromise if necessary.
He is very reliable and dependable and demonstrates respect for your home at all times. Ricardo is also an excellent team leader. Though there is always a tight timeline and a lot of juggling, you never feel the stress coming from him. He treats all team members with respect, and it keeps the spirit of the project in a very happy place. I am absolutely thrilled with the quality of the work. I would highly recommend working with Ricardo from Alcantara contractors. Ricardo is committed to high-quality work and the end product speaks for itself!

We had three estimates. Carlos Alcantara came in at a competitive estimate, yes, but more than that he came across as honest, direct and interested in making our renovation what we wanted, not pressuring us to do things in a certain way. At every point that there was a fork in the road, he presented us with our options and gave us honest appraisals for cost adjustments, time and when asked, his own opinion. Moreover, he stuck to the estimate and our total was what we expected it to be. We had some new problems along the way that our inspection didn't identify (roof leak into our daughter's bedroom for example) and he was able to get it fixed and for a reasonable price, without hesitation. What we liked most about working with Carlos, was his personality. He is a good person, and that comes across when working with him. He knows his subcontractors well and he never hid things from us or tried to upcharge us. He even worked with our design person, who we had hired prior, and did so with utmost professionalism.
After our renovation, we recommended him to our family because of the work he did - and he has now done work for two of my family members on their homes - all of which have come out really well.
Lastly, i will say it has been well over a year since our project completed, but when i reach out to him with questions or concerns, he still responds right away.
I will definitely use him and his company for future projects, and I highly recommend him.

I had Alcantara remodel our two ancient bathrooms in Belmont. The results were fantastic! Ricardo was very helpful throughout the whole process. He was able to give great suggestions on styles, materials and fixtures. He was also able to accommodate any wacky requests or changes along the way. All the work was done promptly with little disruption. Would highly recommend.

Carlos and his crews are the consummate professionals. They are extremely experienced, skilled, hardworking, go above and beyond to ensure the project gets done the right way. Their network is extensive and they consistently got the right people involved at crucial times—usually within a day or two. Very communicative, honest, respectful, and easy to work with. Highly recommended for any job, large to small, repair to luxury finishings. They did a complicated gut Reno and redesign of an old 3-family home in Somerville, and it came out beautifully, and on-budget. Definitely work with them if you can

We have worked with Carlos, Marciel and the Alcantara team for the past 2 years. We started with a full kitchen renovation and are now on to two of our bathrooms. They are professional, kind, considerate and polite. They are on time and conscientious. Carlos has good ideas and is very willing to think through projects with you and your designer to give ideas that he has seen work in the past. In fact, two major things we did in our kitchen were his idea and we are very happy with them. They are trustworthy and diligent and the quality of their work is really great. We are so happy with our kitchen and will be soon with our bathrooms I'm sure. I would highly recommend Carlos and team!

We used Alcantara Contracting to do major renovations on our home including gut reno of the kitchen and master bathroom and laundry room. Carlos is a true pleasure to work with! He is a genuinely kind and caring person which gave me confidence through the entire process that everything would get done and done well. He was very easy to communicate with. Whenever there was an issue or concern he would be there in person to help fix or address the issue. We've had some minor follow up issues that he we've called him back for a year later and he's just as responsive to address the problems. We'd highly recommend Carlos and Alcantara Contracting!

When it comes to soundproofing your space, finding the right contractor can make all the difference. We had just purchased a condo in Cambridge and did not realize how loud the upstairs neighbors can be. After extensive research, I decided to hire Alcantara Contractor for soundproofing my home, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. In total we had our living room, kitchen, master bedroom, master bathroom and a hallway soundproofed.
From the initial consultation to the completion of the project, Marcelino demonstrated professionalism, expertise, and a commitment to excellence. He took the time to assess my specific needs and provided tailored recommendations to address them effectively.

The Alcantara team was very professional and did a great job repairing our ceiling and walls in our living room and sunroom. They added our original crown molding back on and painted our door, walls and ceiling. Everything was done within a few days as estimated. The team also made sure to block off the rest of our rooms so the dust was contained. Our project manager was Ricardo and he kept us updated throughout the project. I appreciated his responsiveness and great attitude. I would not hesitate to have this team work on additional projects at my house.

We are thrilled with our major home renovation in Somerville (kitchen, bathroom, stairwell, playroom + paint/floors for remaining rooms). The Alcantara team are professional, skilled and costs are very reasonable compared to others. They helped with design and were transparent about additional costs. We were especially grateful because the whole team was very conscientious about our 2 young children that were living through the reno.

I would like to thank ALCANTARA construction workers for their professional skill and dedicated services. Great team work. The sliding bath tube doors make perfect that there is no longer having water spreading to the floor due to shower or bath. The floating sink makes more space under the sink. The final painting and finishing are excellent. Overall, it looks much nicer in the bathroom than before.
