I would definitely not go with WM as a company, if I had any other choice. About 6 months ago, they sent a new recycling container that broke within 2 months of very light usage. It's been 3 months and at least 3 or 4 interactions with them, but they have yet to replace the container. It's very frustrating to not be able to speak with an actual person, and they have postponed the delivery of a new container, 4 times now. They initially said they will deliver in July, then changed dates twice in August, and now it is supposedly in September.If I had any other choice of pickup in my area, I would go with them. Unfortunately, WM is the only company that does pickup once every 2 weeks! Try finding other options if that's available to you.Their customer service is non-existent, their pricing is very aggressive and responsiveness is very poor. I have been their customer for several years, and service was acceptable then. It has been very bad in the last year or so.

I attempted to start home service with WM at the start of June with the drop off date for the trash and recycling bings set for the week of July 10th. A week before the bins were scheduled to be dropped off i received an email saying the delivery was delayed until July 19th.Today on July 18th i received another email saying the delivery was delayed yet again this time till Aug 2nd, 3 weeks later than originally scheduled.I talked to an agent online and was told to put my trash out on the curb in bags and that i would need to supply my own container marked Recyling for recyling to be picked up. The agent then asked if i had any questions. Within 30 seconds, while i was typing back, the agent left the chat.Update: i am updating my review after calling about a further delay to the delivery of the bins. The employee who answered the phone was very helpful and waived my bill for the month since i had not been able to use the bins.While i am still upset in the huge delay in the bin delivery, the employee was very helpful and was able to review my account quickly. I am updating my review for 1 star to 3 and will provide a further update once i have been able to have normal services for a few months.

I would not recommend WM for household waste removal. We have had on-going problems with them pushing pick up dates and sometimes missing 1-2 weeks of pick ups. This resulted in a build up of three weeks of trash which is unacceptable. I then have to (if I think to do it) call them up to get the missed service credited back to my pre-paid service. This should be automatically done. I had at times taken bags of my trash and taken them to the dump so we wouldn't have such a build up for fear of animals getting in the trash, etc. I am not sure why they can't attract and keep staff to cover their service areas, but coming from someone who had their service area impacted, WM should either pay more or cut back on their service areas in order to deliver on the expected level of service.

I have used Waste Management for over 10 years - recently over the last 2 months they have become unreliable and inconsistent with poor communication to service delivery changes. This is unacceptable and is providing a poor customer experience.

Tons and tons of issues with this company. Told to expect a call in 24-48 hours for a manager or supervisor or something to call me back (I just want me service done when I’m told it will be done but ok). Shocker, time elapses, no call. I call in to see what’s up. First agent hangs up immediately. Second agent sounds like they have a voice modulator cranked to the max so I can’t understand them. They then dump me to the back of the hold queue.Am I being targeted? I mean obviously not, this would need to be a competent organization for that. This is a completely undependable company. I gave them a 1 star rating because the Google system does not allow me to give 0 stars.I have used them for weekly home trash/recycling collection for 11 months. During that time they have failed to show up on 5 occasions, including 2 out of the last 3 weeks. I am told by customer service that I will be refunded for the skipped collections, but they ***never*** follow through on that.They are the only option for curbside collection. However, they cannot be relied upon. I'm tired of giving them a pass and will terminate service this week.Service: Trash removal & disposal
