First of all I want to say that the owner Dave Veron is an upstanding good person with top-tier knowledge of the science of landscaping (Cornell University horticulture education), a high level of integrity (understands your needs and explains everything intelligently without elitist arrogance we all don’t like), and provides a reasonable price (with room for customer financial negotiations) to feel well with the agreement to partner with him and the Veron company.Dave Veron came over to meet me personally last year when I needed a quick sod job on the house we just bought in Marlborough and he gave me an honest estimate based on the costs and the profit he needs to maintain his business. He listened to my budget constraints and after making some adjustments to what was needed, we reached a mutual beneficial agreement.The quality of his/their work was of the greatest quality and very timely to my urgency request (having it done before my mother’s big 85th b-day party)! They used great high quality equipment to dig deep into the ground (while avoiding my irritation system) and then professionally sod the areas I needed done.Since then I have been a very happy customer of the Veron Company for irrigation flushes, pest spraying, and fertilizing at very reasonable prices with timely professionalism always.I highly recommend the Veron Company for any gardening horticultural needs.Sincerely,David WatersServices: Lawn pest control

They installed our irrigation system many years ago, and have maintained it since. They recently made a service call in which several irrigation heads needed to be replaced (OK, I didn't notice that an old head had not fully retracted, and I chopped the top off with my lawnmower). The service person arrived on time, and did a professional job. I thought the charge was reasonable. When I've telephoned them, I've always quickly gotten through to a live person who can help - that's unusual these days.Service: Irrigation system repair & maintenance

I placed an order for 5 CY of their organic garden soil over the phone. They were able to deliver it to my house the next day, which was great. I placed a tarp in my yard for the delivery, in case no one was home when they got there, and came home to a neat and tidy pile of soil. My husband was actually home, but napping, when they came and he said they were so quick and quiet that he didn’t realize they had come and gone!We’re using the soil to fill raised garden beds, and I’m super happy with the quality and the service (plus much more reasonable pricing than Home Depot). Would definitely recommend!

My fiancé was quoted around 400 and ended paying 1,400.For a grass cut and leaf pick up. We will never use them again.Hi David, no I do not have you confused. My name doesn’t match because it was my fiancé who called and got the quote. He has called as well and they are giving “reasons” as why it’s so high. He has paid for it but I feel that this was not a fair charge. We usually use a different company but they were booked up. Again the quote was very misleading we would of never booked this if we knew price was going to triple.

While Dave was very responsive before cutting him a deposit check, all faith in Veron Company was lost after we locked into a contract with him. Dave told us we would get an architectural design for a large backyard project in a few short weeks, and this took him over 5 months. We began discussions with him in Spring hoping to break ground in the fall. It is now September and we only just got our quote. I had to call every 2-3 weeks to ask for the next steps, and was generally ignored. When I finally told them I was not going to hire them for my project, suddenly the design was ready almost immediately. The quote took another 6 weeks and came back without any breakdown, which we had asked for and he had agreed to.Then the real problems started. As it was a large residential project, we intended to stage the project and Dave said he would work with us to do this. He gave us an ASTRONOMICAL quote (almost 3x other contractors) citing that he needed to follow ICPI guidelines which state he had to use a geofabric. When I reviewed these guidelines, it states that it's optional and generally used for vehicular traffic, but he refused to quote without. He initially refused to break down the cost, but he finally did after another 3 weeks. In reviewing this breakdown, he marked up a pre-made fireplace by 3x, and was charging us over retail for plantings, and charging us a fee on top of that for installation.The office staff were not helpful, but nice enough. Unless you're planning a half million dollar project, it seems that Dave Veron is not interested in working with you. All he does is brag about how much money he makes so he can buy expensive equipment- I should have seen this as a red flag to begin with.

We hired David to install an irrigation system along with installing a new lawn and outdoor design for shrubs, bushes and misc flowering trees.Like any homeowner we did get a second opinion for a 95,000.00 project “ we have a lot of land and irrigation” Dave met us on exact time said he was very straight forward and yes the other estimate was close a little smaller but we are so happy we went with Dave it went absolutely flawless our yard looks beyond fantastic!! His knowledge is impeccable for design we most certainly will be using the Veron company for all of our landscaping needs in the future hands down! I also would love to point out David the outdoor children’s swings and playground they use it daily! Hats off gentlemen job way above my expectations!

They were willing to deliver the same day but I needed it delivered a specific day the following week... which was no problem for them to accommodate.I have used them a few times over the past several years and have always had great service and great mulch. Highly recommended!

We have used the Veron company for tick and mosquito spraying and plan to also use them for soil delivery for our veggie raised beds and some help with lawn care. They have been very responsive, quick to get us our services, and helpful in educating us about aspects of the spraying and some underlying issues we needed resolved for our yard (Street water run off issues the city helped us fix based upon the Veron Company’s feedback). Will for sure keep utilizing the Veron company, thank you!
