Several months ago we hired CMH to install new white oak oil based flooring into four rooms that required more prep than a typical installation.
I had lots of questions and Pete explained our installation options and gave us a competitive price.
Pete and his crew were professional, prompt, and left our house clean every day. Pete got back to me quickly whenever I had questions and the job was completed promptly.
Our new floors look beautiful and when we eventually refinish our other rooms where we installed oak flooring 14 years ago we would like to have Pete and his crew again.

We have used Pete and his team twice now and both times they have been fantastic! Pete shows up on time and so does his team. They make it as easy as possible to have your floors finished or new floors installed! The new floor installation that we had was amazing because the amount of difficulty in what they had to work around hard. Everyone that we interact with was professional and kind. Hard-working is another word to describe this amazing team. They get the job done in a timely manner.

Pete Barber and Central Mass Hardwood refinished white oak flooring in our living and dining rooms that had been covered by carpets for several decades and installed new white oak flooring in our kitchen and family room. The family room's foundation did not enclose a basement and therefore required a specially engineered hardwood product to protect against moisture that could cause the planks to buckle. Pete and his employees did a great job matching and joining the wood in the different rooms and resolving the inevitable problems that emerged during the course of the work. Pete was sensitive to our needs and desire to remain in the house during most of the project, such as organizing the work to enable continued access to our refrigerator. We are very pleased with the beautiful floors that Central Mass Hardwood produced.

Working with Peter and his team was straightforward. Accurately predicted amount of time the job would take. Reasonable quote (only for floors, not moving furniture). Took care of damaged floors very nicely (water and burns from fireplace). Highly recommend.

My wife and I bought our first home in November 2023. The house had old carpeting that needed to be removed in the upstairs which we wanted to replace with hardwood as well as some hardwood flooring on the main floor that needed to be refinished. We called Pete and his team were able to install the hardwood floors upstairs and refinish the floors on the main floor before the end of the year. The floors all came out great and his team was on time, within budget and respectful when they were on site. We couldn't be happier with choosing central mass hardwood inc. for the job.

Central Mass Hardwood installed prefinished oak flooring in two rooms in our home. They gave us a fair price and completed the job on the scheduled time frame. Their attention to detail showed--the floors look great! They went the extra mile to keep the house dust-free during the work, and they cleaned up afterward. Five stars!

Pete and his team did a remarkable job on our floors. We recently bought a house and found out that there was some nice, but slightly damaged, hardwood floors underneath. I ripped up most of the carpet myself but Pete and his team did the rest. We went with the water based coat for our upstairs and the standard oil coat for the kitchen downstairs. The quote was very 30% cheaper than the other company I contacted. They left the space in great shape each day and were pretty friendly.
It felt like really honest pricing, Pete came over, measured, pulled out a calculator from the 90's and gave me the exact price.
I'd use them again in a heart beat.

Recently I bought a new home and wanted to remove carpeting and tile and replace it with hardwood that matched what was in the home. I didn’t think it would be hard to find people to help find and install the wood. I was wrong. It was not easy. Fortunately a friend recommended Central Mass Hardwood. I called them and after speaking with Peter Barber I knew I had the right company. Peter had the right wood in just a few days and he and his crew were a wonderful group to have doing the work . They came when they said they would. They finished when they said they would. They were clean and neat with the work. They were polite, helpful, and professional. The job was done perfectly and I would highly recommend them because I am certain that they will work just as hard for all their customers.

I recently had the upstairs floors of my home installed by Central Mass Hardwood. The job was complicated by the fact that it required tearing out not just the old carpeting but a layer of particle board as well and replacing it with new plywood before the new hardwood could go down, a big job. Peter gave me a very reasonable price, was responsive to all my questions and his team (Kyle) did an excellent, professional job with the installation. Each day we arrived home from work and the place was immaculate. I can't recommend Central Mass Hardwood enough. Give Peter a call, you won't be disappointed!

We used Central Mass Hardwood to refinish approximately 1600 sq. ft. of hardwood floors. They completed the work earlier than expected and the floors came out great. Central Mass Hardwood refinished my floors this spring.Easy to work with / timely : Pete was quick to come out & measure. He emailed me the quote & the pricing was very reasonable. He worked with me to adjust the timeline when my house closing date was delayed, and his team was fabulous & completed the work so quickly that my move in date did not have to be delayed.Terrific product : Most of the floors in my house are red oak from 1973 & have significant gapping due to previous owners' use of a wood stove. The rest are newer & are white oak. Pete was clear about what he could / could not fix on the older floor and how it would look, and his team worked with me to select the right color for my home and were able to match the different floor materials / ages to each other. The floors look terrific & are smooth (though the old floors are still gappy) and will last many more years without needing to be replaced.Refinished hardwood floors with the 1990's yellow-orange stain to a sandy natural white-oak look. The team gave me a lot of options to make the floors lighter (because red oak is darker) however I preferred the natural look and accepted the darker appearance of some pieces of wood.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Central Mass Hardwood to everyone in the area!Service: Floor refinishing
