Absolute gem of a place for all your boating needs. I rented a Hobie kayak (off site) and Mary Ellen met me at the shop at a time that was convenient for me. She helped me secure the kayak to the top of the car, so now I know how to transport kayaks. I found that the system she used to install kayaks on the roof of cars is idiot proof, and the kayak is securely fastened to the top of the car to avoid liability. I also found that any guy could lift a kayak and install it the the roof of a car solo (it's not that heavy), however hauling the kayak fewer for more than 5 feet I recommend two people. I refuse to rent anywhere else, and I look forward to renting from Little Harbor Boathouse again.

Location: so pretty, close to downtown but not too crowded, get there earlier than your reservation to ensure good parking Staff: super super nice, knowledgeable and hard working Price: $30 single kayak 2 hours, $45 tandem kayak 2 hours I went with 3 friends here to go kayaking before brunch on a girls day. It was SO FUN. Very relaxing, very safe, provided maps/clear do's and don'ts/life jackets provided. They also had paddle board yoga too which looked so nice. Overall very happy and felt that the money was well worth it. Call a day in advance if possible to reserve because it was busy from when they opened to when we left and thankfully we made reservations or we probably wouldn't have been able to go. Busy is a good sign!

This is one of the best kept secrets on the North Shore. Rentals, summer camp and storage! Hoorah! The launch point is off Gashouse Beach, a spot well known to local Marbleheaders, and one of the most picturesque areas on the water. It is one of the best launching spots hands down for non-motorized boating with quality, well-maintained equipment! My child has participated in the summer camp this year -- which is impeccably run. He is thoroughly enjoying the paddlesports and games and always ends his days with a huge grin on his face! Be prepared to be greeted by knowledgable and customer-oriented staff! (You won't have to look around for someone to help you or greet you!) Maryellen - the owner - is such an asset to the community. This is a professional operation, and highly recommended, versus what you might find 'thrown' up along a sandy beach-head. Long live Little Harbor Boathouse!

A hidden gem on the North Shore that shouldn't be missed. Especially if you love getting on the water, or looking for a place to buy the best kayaks on the market.Awesome place for guided kayak fishing charters as well.
