9/27 review. Once again, failed by the postal service. I had a package show up in my usps informed delivery and the tracking info says 'Held at Post Office, At customer request'. So I think gee, I didn't request that, but ok, whatever. I go to the post office the following day(Friday), wait outside for them to open at 8am and surprise, they're now only open from 11-2pm. Listed on a piece of paper inside, not where the actual business hours are. FINE. I come back Monday at noon. I tell them I'm there to pick up a package. "Oh that's just something they put to clear it from the system, it'll get delivered today". Like WHAT? You have a tracking system that you just put whatever info you want in there? So I get home, and waiting in my mailbox, is A MISSED DELIVERY NOTICE FOR THE PACKAGE I JUST WENT TO RETRIEVE BECAUSE THEIR TRACKING SAID IT WAS AT THE POST OFFICE WAITING TO BE PICKED UP. I hope, with every fiber of my being, that the United States Postal Services goes out of business. I haven't met a single person there that cares about the people they service, ever. They don't care about the job they're doing, and it shows. Shut them down. The lack of logic, service, care, or oversight is just sickening.
UPDATE: 5 years later, the USPS continues it's longstanding tradition of providing the worst service of carrier services. Two days in a row, I've waited home for a package to arrive. Both times, the tracking information has been updated to "can't access delivery location". I'm home. UPS, Fedex, ubereats, dominos pizza, door dash, amazon....all of them are able to successfully deliver to me. Why isn't USPS able to successfully complete the single function they advertise?
Consistently delivers THE WORST service by any business I've ever dealt with. I had a package sent next day, spent the whole day home, got my mail delivered with the exception of my package. Upon checking the tracking number, it was showing that a deliver attempt was made, and a notice was left. There was no notice, I was home the entire day, and the package didn't even need a signature. So what gives?
I will never use the post office for anything again. I'll send everything ups or fedex even if it costs more. USPS is hands down the most unreliable delivery service you could imagine.
Another update - continuing the already poor track record, my mail gets smashed into my mailbox. To make room for the 4 different circulars, the two letters from my health insurance were crumpled at the bottom of the mailbox. Do better.

Quick service and friendly staff. Can be busy and packed with people around the holidays and there never seems to more than one or two people working the counter.

Was met by horrible attitudes from moment I walked in the door. The woman assisting me was incredibly rude, and acted like I was stupid for asking questions while applying for my passport for the first time. She made me feel as though I was an inconvenience rather than a costumer. Along with this, I watched her demeanor change as she talked to the older woman who was next in line. My younger age is not an excuse for your professionalism fly out the window. I am incredibly frustrated by this situation, and I regret going to this branch for the handling of such an important document.

?- (six months and still no passport)The USPS passport process agency has not sent my passport after six months. Emails and calls fall upon polite but ignorant deaf ears. Probably BEST to get your passport processed in an embassy in a foreign country as there is more respect for laws and statutes to process your passport quickly. The USPS and Sec State Office in US are most polite but no passport after six months. US SEC State has failed to deliver after payment, Emails & calls. The USPS workers are all Five Star⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ always but not passport processing. Our Mansfield USPS is awesome but Sec State passport process agency is polite but off as they violate their own statutes and rules for USA citizens.

They won’t even answer the phones and refund me for a $300 package they delivered to the wrong house.

If I could give a negative star, I would. I was helped by Barbara. I don't mail things very often so I really needed some guidance on how to mail a letter with a return envelope and I asked what envelope I should use and what method of mail she would recommend. She just shrugged me off and said nonchalantly " I don't know, we aren't a packaging company we're a shipping company" and stared at me blankly. So I just walked off...she offered zero guidance and made no effort to help. I really don't understand why they put people like this in a service role at front desk who can't fulfill the most basic and fundamental requirements of their job description. It's so frustrating for people. Her gross negligence of her job duties was so ridiculous that another client felt bad and stepped out of line to essentially do her job and help me - told me the process, what envelope to use, approximate cost, shipping method, etc etc. Thank you random stranger from New Jersey.

Barbara is probably one of the most miserable people that I have interacted with that works in customer service. She is extremely rude, unhelpful, slow moving, and lacks any sense of how to communicate with people. She is not a good reflection of the town of Mansfield. Previous reviews of her are also consistent with my impression.
