To provide context, I have been a customer at this establishment previously. However, during my visit on March 26, 2024, around 3:30 PM, I encountered a concerning situation. Upon pulling into the leftmost bay , I made a specific request to the Valvoline technician regarding my oil drain plug. I explained that it had been overtightened previously by a Valvoline technician with an air drill, and despite my efforts, I couldn't loosen it even with a breaker bar. Instead of receiving understanding or assistance, I sensed a scoffing attitude from the technician, who called over his manager. Despite maintaining a professional demeanor and reiterating my request, I felt a sense of mockery from both the technician and the manager. The manager expressed concerns about potential oil leaks if they were to follow my request, but I reassured them of my willingness to take responsibility. I even offered to sign a liability waiver for the requested service. At this moment, I provide them with my own socket wrench (16mm) to manually tighten the oil drain plug although the correct size, 17mm, rests in the pocket of my pants. He proceeds to enter my vehicle VIN, asks me to pop my hood and we follow the usual protocol. I felt a lack of genuine effort from the technician. The ensuing interactions, smirks visibly wiped across their faces and glances exchanged among the team only heightened my unease.Upon completion of the service, the technician hands my torque wrench and I glance at it - spotless and clean. If they had tried to tighten it then they would know that it wasn't the correct size which was a red flag. I drive to the McDonalds just a minute away and parked in the lot and peer under where I noticed a drop of oil was leaking every couple of seconds... Fortunately, I live less than 10 minutes away, got my vehicle on Rhino ramps, chocked my rear tires, put on e-brake and got under the front of my vehicle. I inspected the work, found that the oil drain plug was not adequately tightened as requested, and put my index finger to the oil drain plug - there was approximately 2 mms between the pan and drain plug and not even finger tight! I proceed to change my oil and tighten the oil drain plug. This experience left me deeply concerned, posing serious risks to my vehicle's integrity and safety which may have lead to a potential engine failure and have had severe consequences. I could not even classify the service provided as shoddy job but rather with malintent. Worst case scenario, this could have lead to vehicular manslaughter. I urge for a thorough review of procedures and accountability measures to ensure such lapses do not recur, emphasizing the critical importance of customer safety and trust. I also urge anyone who gets their vehicle serviced here to double check their work!

Do not bring your vehicles here. Just read all the reviews and you can see consistent complaints about how this location causes damages to cars. Unqualified technicians and extremely rude managers who take no accountability for mistakes made and blame the customers for being upset about unauthorized work done on vehicles. Managers are very unprofessional and could use an inservice on basic customer service.Take your oil changes elsewhere before it turns into a car that needs to be towed!

I was there (Route 99, Malden, MA location) this afternoon for an oil change and also wiper change as they recommended it, spent $140, although the service was good, one of the employee was kinda arrogant. When I came in and drove on the entrance path from the street, the bottom part of my Toyota CHR (normal car factory height, no modification whatsoever) touches the ground with a loud scraping noise (even the people on the street turned around to see), I noticed a depressed or lowered part of the ground between the sidewalk and the entrance's path. I told the guy that took my car's information about it, and he said "my car is lower than yours and that never happened", I mean I don't care about his car, I just wanted him to know what just happened, there's McDonald's and a carwash on that side of the road and KFC and Burger King on the other side of the street and my car's bottom never touches the ground when I go there. The guy then said, "you can call Malden and complain about it if you like", I said, well, that thing will prevent me from coming back here, he replied, "all of our customers came back and you're the only one complaining about it, you can go somewhere else then next time you need an oil change." With that kind of attitude, surely I will not be coming back there anytime soon.

Pictured is the actual write up when a Lexus dealer assessed what was wrong a day after leaving Valvoline Malden: Careless, no accountability, they clearly don't take ownership of their mistakes either. Allow me to be the TWENTY FIRST 1 star review for this Malden Valvoline. The day after I got my oil changed, my oil pressure light came on. I didn't understand what was happening and I had been through this before at the Lynn location where they said the oil was leaking and I needed it towed (gee, thanks). So this time I went straight to the Lexus dealer...who determined that there was hardly any oil in the car! They said my car was THIIIIIIS close to being destroyed. I emailed just wanting answers. I reached the main office, they listened, ignored me, sent me directly to Malden on the phone. From here, one of the workers said he'd check the cameras to make sure the job was done right..."hey maybe someone forgot to add oil." I'm like, "okay, but he showed me the dipstick. There was oil...you got a camera to show that the filter was put on properly?" He said "yeah." I said, "okay, so let's say you see that both jobs were done properly, that would be it then? You're free and clear? No one's at fault? I sabotaged my own car and went to go pay for another oil change at Lexus because I love oil changes so much?" Get this ..his response was..."we've actually had a few complaints and caught some guys doing a bad job." What??! Want to know my ending? No one ever called back. What an absolute joke. And don't respond with your empty "please send us your VIN and we'll rectify it" response...because you won't. Unless someone's refunding me don't bother.

Went there first thing in the morning. Larry (Wyze) couldn't have been nicer. I mean at 730 in the morning. Had a pleasant chat too. Definitely bringing my other car in. Thanks Larry, from the guy with the black BMW 740.

I have a Toyota Tacoma with the oil filter on the top of my engine. The technician didn't know which way to turn the filter to loosen it. They spilled the old oil from the oil filter all over my engine and left a mess. I will NEVER go back to valvoline.

Everyone here is so nice. They didn't pressure me into any other services. The manager Ramone was phenomenal. So understanding of my situation and he really turned my day around with his helpful words. That's what I loved most. I wasn't treated like just another car on an assembly line. They actually talked to me. Keep up the great workServices: Air & cabin filter replacement

Reason for 5 star... Jean. Looks like they did not change my oil correctly in the first place - I have a VW and the drain plug was not installed correctly therefor leaving oil stains where ever I parked. Had been back a couple times, Jean had honestly tried to correct it. Finally, under the direction of a very friendly team, they may have stopped the leak from my drain pan. They re-did my oil change yesterday and used the proper plug... we will see if this works but the reason for the 5 stars is for Jean and how I was treated. I will let you know if they stopped the leak.

a bad experience where the employees are seeming to do the first oil change , they got all over my car and the guy still dropped a part of the tool on the steel chest and did not remove it today 6/23/23 ,
