I would give Lou and Brian 10 stars if I could. I needed new brakes and was heading out of state. Even though they were closing early they squeezed me in. Their prices are fair and they stand behind their work. I knew I needed to replace the rotors, but they still showed me my old rotors. My front brakes were good but there was still grinding so they cleaned the calipers and whatever else had build up. They could have easily told me I needed new front brakes as well but they have integrity and are honest. Loving my smooth and quiet ride!
Thank you Lou and Brian! You have a customer for life!

Came here for a state inspection. They said I’d have a bit of a wait but they were pretty quick and courteous. Will definitely come back!

Great place, the owners, Lou and his son Brian, are both incredibly helpful. I've been going to them for almost a decade at this point. A mechanic you can trust is so valuable because I don't know all that much about cars and Lou/Brian will tell me what really needs to be fixed rather than adding in extra stuff the way some other places do. I first started going to them when I got a really high quote from another shop and the Hubstarters' quote was less than half. I'd highly recommend these guys ?

I wanted to leave a review for this shop because of the owner's generosity and meticulous attention to detail when it comes to repairing your car. Last week, my car broke down with a broken control arm and axle - totaling just over $1k in repairs. The price brought me to tears since I'm especially financially strapped and stressed this month, so the owner did what he could to get the price down for me and it ended up being just under $800. He also looked at a few other things I knew needed attention that I asked about, and noticed that my hood needed some work (since it wouldn't fully close after a front-end collision I was in within the past year). Before he released my car to me, he gave it a test drive to make sure there was nothing else he missed. Then, after all of that, he gave me an estimate as to how much longer my brake pads will last (which was a repair I knew was on the horizon), in addition to addressing the cause of another noise, which completely eased my anxiety about when I can plan to pay for those repairs in the coming months. He's even asked me if I'd bring my car back in a week so that he can look it over one more time to make sure there isn't anything amiss because he is meticulous about ensuring a quality repair. I went to this shop on a whim and am really glad I came here. Thank you endlessly to the owner who did a great repair and showed me a lot of empathy when I cried about the price on the phone. If you're near the Malden area, I can't recommend this place enough!

I was in need of brakes for my dodge durango and I went to Hub starters for an estimate. The gentleman that greeted me was very understanding of my needs and looked over my vehicle and upon his professional recommendations I felt completely comfortable with what he said I needed. He set an appointment for me to drop my vehicle off and informed me that it may take a day to complete I was ok with that but at the end of the day I dropped it off I got a phone call telling I could pick my vehicle up. I will recommend HUB STARTERS to anyone in need of vehicle repairs the complete professional at this shop was amazing.

They only made me waste my time and my money, they delivered the car without coolant without removing the thermostat after changing it, they are a risk for your vehicle and your money, the car left the workshop after two weeks with the same problem they did not solve nothing, in my opinion they should not have a high quality certificate. I don't understand how they are at the top of a list of good service. From the beginning I felt discriminated against for not speaking English. Don't waste your money.

I brought my car in for service years ago ! Kept telling me a part was on order ! I see my Car at Bell Circle in Revere the next day. They were using my car to run errands ! Never went back ! Try Superior in Maplewood way more honest and upfront than these jokers

I can't believe this place. Lou, the owner, is not only reasonably priced but the more important quality is that he is HONEST ! Do you know how tough it is to find an honest mechanic ? I am a repeat customer for life ! Thank you Lou !
