If I could give this place no stars I would. This is the most sketchy animal shelter I have ever been too. The two kittens we took home were way more sick than we were told. The day after bringing them home one of them started coughing and sneezing and upon bringing them to our vet were told he had a respiratory infection ( This is the day after adoption so he was already sick!).We were told that the other one had one more dose of de wormer and gave us an unmarked syringe and no instructions! We brought the syringe in to show the vet and she told us to throw it out because we don’t know what’s in it. We didn’t even get paperwork for over a week. We have had these babies for almost 2 months and are still trying to get them all better. From multiple vet visits to multiple antibiotics and other meds. One of our kittens is skinnier than the other and having problems with his stool. Upon sending out a sample to a lab to be checked we just found out he has a tapeworm, Giardia, and a parasite (ALL OF WHICH HE HAD AT THE SHELTER). They weren’t gonna send out for those test because they cost 200 dollars, and that is the only way to diagnose that,so they just kept de worming him thinking he had worms! All while this tapeworm has basically been starving our baby!Even though these kittens are sick they are much safer with us than they ever were in that shelter! I will NEVER go back to this shelter ever again! They should be shut down and sued!

My wife and I adopted three kittens from the Pat Brody Shelter a few months ago. The staff was very helpful and the cats are fantastic! It is clear the cats were given excellent care and were very well socialized during their time at the shelter.

I am so pleased with my experience at this shelter. The volunteers were kind, responsive and helpful. I filled out my adoption application, was approved and got to go home with my dream kitten. He is just perfect in every way. Thank you for the amazing work you ladies do here. Highly recommend making an appointment to adopt a kitty that needs a forever home ?

We love our kitty Meeka, this place is doing a great job at connecting cats with loving homes. The volunteers seem to really be invested in the wellbeing of the kitties. All of the felines are happy and clean, the rooms are well kept and there are toys and perches everywhere to help them feel safe. Adopt!

Pat Brody is an incredibly humane shelter where all of the cats who have cleared quarantine get to live in three home like living rooms. This arrangement is lower stress on the cats and gives potential adopters a better idea of each cat’s true personality. The animals all receive excellent medical care and are socialized at least twice daily by teams of volunteers. This is an ideal place to adopt a cat!

I am an experienced cat owner and came to adopt 2 cats after my cat of 15 years passed away. Upon arrival, I saw that this shelter is very clean and that the cats are well cared for. Within an hour, I went home with 2 female kittens who are littermates. It was obvious that they were handling these kittens because they knew not to bite or scratch hands (yes, they make mistakes-but they're babies). They love their food and they love to play. And, they love me. We are family.

They really make the cats feel comfortable and like they are at home! Tons of kitty toys, lots of room to play, outdoor yard, and of course all the cozy places to sleep. It's the Ritz of Cat Shelters!

I adopted then 6 month old Kiki right before the lockdowns in 2020. She’s the grey smaller cat in the pictures. The application process was thorough, but fair. Worth the effort because Kiki is perfect. She is well bonded with her older sibling as you can see!Kiki is amazingly well socialized. Just loves everyone she meets, and is super playful. I think all the work this shelter puts into socializing and providing enrichment for their cats really pays off.If you want to find a shelter that puts as much work into finding the right adopter as you put into finding a cat, check this place out.

This was the most AWFUL and saddening experience of I could give no stars I would.I put in an application for adoption, was approved and scheduled an appointment for today for 6:30. The time comes and we show up a little early because we came from about an hour away.(First, I want to mention I am totally aware of the fact that it is basically a first come first serve basis which is why I scheduled an appointment instantly.)Someone named Kathy came to speak with us since they were finishing up with others inside and she was very kind, asked about if there was a specific cat/kitten I had been looking at and i mentioned i was looking for a single kitten however she told me they do not adopt out kittens individually which was not communicated to me at all nor is it on the kitten section of their website. Another woman steps over (not sure of her name, she had grey short hair i’ll call her Karen because she definitely acted like one.) and joins the conversation and we explain how we had been anticipating only getting one kitten etc. at this point I begin to cry because I have extreme anxiety and obviously after driving over an hour I was just disappointed that I wasn’t told this prior.Kathy mentioned the mother of some of the kittens and offered to introduce us to them. She brought us into their room (don’t know where Karen went) and there was the cat mom and about 4 kittens. She mentions how only two of the cats are currently adopted and two aren’t. My mom apologized to Kathy for me crying due to my anxiety and she was very sympathetic and kind. After taking some time with the mom and kittens we decided to just give in and take two kittens (Which was literally what they stated we had to do if we wanted a kitten) We come out of the room and Karen is right there, I begin to ask out of confirmation and curiosity about the two kittens that we were told were unadopted and she was clearly very frustrated and annoyed. At this point there are plenty of people in there and before I can continue asking my questions she starts suddenly going off about how there are no more kittens suddenly to adopt and her answer was “There were people in before you” Why schedule appointments with people if you don’t have them to adopt? I was extremely embarrassed as i was already emotional and she was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. If you want to be treated like sh*t while just trying to adopt a cat this is the place for you.
