Looked a long time to find a watchmaker/jeweler to service automatic movements. Finally found John and he did an outstanding job repairing one of my favorite watches for an excellent price. Will absolutely be returning for future repairs or services.

Outstanding! I took a necklace in to John. I have terrible arthritis and I couldn't manage the tiny barrel clasp anymore. I asked him to put on a larger lobster claw clasp. Not only did he do that, he replaced the little jump I hook it into. It's now so easy for me to manage, the price was very reasonable, and the work was done quickly.

Great job widening my diamond enhancer ring. They did not cheap out on the gold. They also fixed my vintage watch. Just discovered this jeweler and so far I’m happy with their work

Very satisfied with my experience here. I brought in a high end Rolex for a dial swap. John had it done in the same afternoon, for a very reasonable price. Watch winding and running smoother than when I dropped it off too. Thank you!

I buy and sell watches, and was looking for a good local watchmaker to service. It appears I have to keep looking. If the horrible communication(non answered messages, email) isn't enough to keep you away, take a look at before and after photos. Left photos were taken the day it was dropped off.I dropped this off for a movement service. Got it back with scratches on the dial and half of the orange paint on the bezel missing, also the lume plots are now dirty where they were perfect. This watch is 17 years old. It made it 17 years with the bezel in excellent shape. 10 weeks with John and it's aged by years. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.I wish I had seen the review right before mine before going here. This guy simply doesn't care, and does sloppy work.

John needs to close up shop.I've been bringing my watch to him for a while now, and he used to be great. He clearly just doesn't care anymore.About a year ago I brought him a watch to be serviced. He told me it would be two weeks. It took three MONTHS.When I got it back it ran fast by about an hour a day and there was a crystal clear fingerprint inside, right in the center of the crystal. I had to bring it back to have him fix both.Several months ago, I brought him the same watch, where I wanted to change a sapphire, a ceramic bezel insert and a dial. I provided all three. He told me that "for these simple things" it would take about a week. I didn't hear from him for a month. Finally when he did call, it was because he destroyed the dial and had to replace it. He called me to find out the part and where to get it. Three weeks later, I called about status, and he told me the part hadn't arrived yet. I called the supplier, and they told me the date he ordered it.It was TWO WEEKS after he called me to tell me he'd destroyed the part! He waited...Two. Weeks. When I finally went to pick up the watch, the previous insert was cracked in two, and the sapphire was scratched beyond recognition. It's SAPPHIRE. Only diamond or tungsten carbide can scratch it. It should be nearly impossible to scratch, but he not only managed it, he utterly destroyed it. When I went to pick it up, he wasn't there. I looked at the parts and was shocked at what I saw. No call from him, no apology, absolutely nothing. When I picked up the watch, he was travelling. His associates told me he would call me as soon as he returned. That hasn't occurred. In the end, even after telling me it would take a week to do the work, Again, I didn't get the watch back for two months, to the day.It takes months to do work he tells you will take a week or two, and my watch has never run worse. The watch is supposed to (and once did) have a 48 hour power reserve, but since he started working on it, I need to reset it every morning because the reserve doesn't even last through the night. He destroys the parts you provide to him. John and his work have become simply horrible. Beyond horrible. If I could give him zero or negative stars, I would. He clearly doesn't give a rat's a** anymore. And to be frank, his associates have basically admitted as much. It's time for John to get out of the business. If you bring him anything after reading this review (and other recent reviews where he destroyed items and clearly didn't care), and he ruins what you bring him. You were warned.UPDATE: A few minutes AFTER I left this review he tried to call me. Sorry dude. Too late.

I brought in an antique gold wristwatch in for repair. Two weeks later I got an estimate. In January I asked that they go ahead with the repair. They told me it would be ready in February. Today (late March), over two months later I went to get the watch. Nothing had been done to repair it. I didn't even receive a courtesy call to give me an update. This whole experience was a waste of time, energy and gas money. Find someone more professional.

Brought a 100 year old ring to be resized one size up. When I called to get an update I was told NOT to call them, that I'll get a call when ready. Almost a month later I called because I hadn't heard anything. I was finally able to pick up my ring, so I thought (was told to come back next day). Came back next day finally got my ring. Looked at it briefly, was happy to have it back, looked nice, paid what I owed and left. Before picking up the ring I was told by John (owner) that a loose diamond prong had been worked on (without my knowledge/permission). It's when I reached home that I saw his "work." He left a blob of gold, damaging some original detail and ruining the look/symmetry of the ring. A side of the ring was also left uneven/misaligned. It broke my heart to see what was done to a ring that existed for so many years and all because I needed it sized just 1 size up. I called and spoke to John and received no apology. He only asked that I bring it back in. Really, John?! Never, ever again!
