This review is for Taylor Gonzalez who showed us the brand new Kia Sorento. Of all the dealerships we went to (6+ brands in this line), Taylor was the only rep who took the time to show us the car, it's features while sitting with us on a test drive and then diligently following up with us on next steps. None of the other brand dealerships gave us any time to discuss the car features. They expected us to have done the due diligence online and considered themselves as paperwork facilitators. We ended up going with another brand, only because the other brand gave us more features suited for our needs, but the fact that we only remembered Taylor's treatment, made me want to come here and give him a 5* rating.

I dropped my 2013 Kia Sportage off at Gervais Kia for an engine failure related to a class action lawsuit. After 2 months I was notified that I could pick up the vehicle as the engine replacement was done. When I was attempting to drive the car off the lot I noticed that the gear shift was not working properly. I drove away and the engine would not shift from 1st gear ( automatic transmission) and the engine was running at over 4000 rpm at 20 mph.
I immediately went back to the dealership and explained the issue. I was told that the transmission cable had probably snapped. I said that it was fine when I brought the car in 2 months ago and now it was broken. I was told that it probably was a coincidence!
It cost me over $800 to fix the cable.
Additionally, when I first picked up the car the paperwork said that there was an open recall on the vehicle due to spontaneous engine fire issues. Why didn’t they notify me and repair the recall issue during the 2 months that the vehicle was in their possession?
I emailed Rich Gervais about the issue prior to posting this but only got a call and email from people at Gervais Kia trying to sell me a new vehicle .

Had my first service after buying my car in February 2024 and added a tow hitch for a bike rack. Easy to work with the Service Group. They are very communicative, open and honest. Really happy with the first service.

If you value your time and money don’t come to this dealership, They’re very unprofessional at the service department. Matthew and Liliana have the worst customer service possible. Matthew didn’t even care to update me about the status of my repair for a full day. Gervais Kia didn’t service my car correctly, I had to bring my car in for a second time also for the same issue and they were still oblivious. They had the car for 2 days and i’m still at square one. They’ll happily take your money and won’t issue refunds even if they didn’t help at all.

I held off on writing this review in hopes that things would turn around and I could give a better review.I had really high hopes for this dealership because everyone was so nice there. However I dropped off my 2024 telluride xline to get cross bars attached and hopefully bike racks for the roof of my car. Unfortunately after having my car for over 5 hours when I called for a status update it turns out my car was finished but no work was done to it. Apparently the roof racks didn’t fit and they were unaware of the trim level of the car (after having gave them the vin number and details while making the appointment) and the said there are no roof racks available for the xline. The parts department also didn’t know what type of bike rack I was asking for even though they are listed as available on the Kia site I saw while purchasing my telluride. The manager was lovely and tried to do some great service recovery when I picked up my car but unfortunately there was no follow through on her part. She told me she was looking into some Thule racks that could fit and a bike rack and that she would send me a quote later that day which I never received. As it was a Friday afternoon I assumed things got busy and it would be sent by Monday but a week passed with still no quote. When I called back to speak with her I was told she was in another building but would call me right back which unfortunately never happened.

Update: Took the car to the body shop today to have a scratch repaired and was told they could tell that a repair had been done on the front bumper. This was not disclosed to me when I bought the car. It kind of calls into question the story I was told that the car (which normally had a waiting list) was available because the purchaser decided they didn't like the color. Now I wonder if the bumper damage was the real factor. I am happy with the car, but feel I was not given the full story.
