I love to eat at the Y. Come here quite a bit today. I just ran in to pick up a few soda pops they carry. A brand that makes birch beer. Some of the best birch beer I have shoved down my throat. If you like birch beer, you should definitely try these locally made soda pops. Additionally, they make subs in the back. The meatball sub is very good many times they run out of meatballs because it is so popular, I keep telling them you can never have too many balls. Some of the other subs are good. Also never had the pizza or the soup but a lot of people seem to get it overall pretty good store with lots of parking.

It was early evening when I stopped for food and gas. They have the standard gas station junk food but also a nice selection of packaged sandwiches, meats and cheese. It works for me.

Coffee bar was roped off and shut down last time I stopped here. Pumps are not 24hrs and were closed at 0500. Fooled me twice; shame on me. Won't go back.

I was caught in a 2-hour traffic jam with my check engine oil light on. Stopped here and asked for help. Marie checked the oil, found it very low, recommended an oil to use, filled it for me, and sent me in my way happy and relieved. Ehren helped as well when the oil cap fell inside. Very grateful to both of them-thank you!

(Really 2 and a half stars) This is totally my fault. I gave the wrong pump number to the clerk and someone pulled up to that pump (of course) and started pumping. By the time I figured out what I had done and gone into to the clerk the person had pumped a few dollars of my gas into their car. The person wouldn't pay me for it and neither would the clerk ask them to and tell them something like, "I'm sorry sir but you'll have to reimburse this customer for the gas you pumped that they paid for." The person kept saying they swiped their credit card and the clerk had no way of proving to them they were not charged for the gas purchase I paid for. So Instead of getting into a situation with the person I left minus the 3 bucks in gas they pumped. While yes this was my fault Big Y Express should have a way to show customers they in fact did NOT pay for the gas someone else did. Summary: Make sure you give the clerk the RIGHT pump number or someone else will get your gas you paid for and Big Y Express will do less than Richard to help you out. Loss of two stars for that.

Some crack head chick was working as we pulled into this gas station at 11:56 pm after traveling the mass pike with no gas station between exit 2 & 3. She watched our car pull into the gas station with our two year old son & locked the doors as she continued to YELL through the glass door that she does final count of the drawer at midnight and would not approve the pump after already swiping our credit card for gas. Leaving us completely stranded with our son in the middle of nowhere mass... not the kind of decency you expect from people.

Ended up stopping here for a refill while driving to Connecticut yesterday. I've never seen a Big Y branded gas station but this one was pretty nice. Inside had a large selection of drinks, pre-made food, and snacks galore. My only complaint was that instead of being helped when I went to the counter (the store was empty, I was the only person inside) both workers preceded to continue talking about cigarettes instead of cashing me out for about 2 minutes.
