Needed a basic tune up for my bike.Tuesday: was told by every single person there that “we’re pretty low season right now, so if you bring the bike on Friday, it’ll be done the same day”.Wednesday: brought my bike inFriday: nothing. 0 calls. 0 notifications.Saturday: Again, 0 notifications from them, so I called.Non-chalantly they said “your bike is due on TUESDAY (12/19?!) next week, it SAYS here”I asked “did you even touch the bike at all? Why did you ask me to bring it on Fri?”They said “no. the bike has not been touched at all”Good luck. The audacity to just “input” the business as much as possible, asking costumers to bring their bike in, BUT ZERO “output” (not the courtesy of communicating what’s going on?).When I pick up my bike, they went “have fun with your bike”, knowing full well the bike has NOT been touched/serviced.100 points for being a disorganized bike shop, 0 points for good quality service.**12/17 EDIT**After seeing this, they left me a voicemail saying that they’ll do the tune up and I should come back. Unfortunately I already dropped my bike to be tuned elsewhere.

Fantastic bike shop! They teach people to do maintenance, sell new and used bikes, and even have used bike parts. I got my new used bike here and come back whenever I need anything to service it. The people are always helped, and I love being able to buy nice used things and not contribute to the waste steam!

Charlie & Susan were quick in identifying what was up with my new used-bike purchase & getting a ticket in for the same day. I think the person who worked on my bike was Gabriel, & I’m super grateful they managed to find time for my drop-in in the midst of a busy schedule!! Will definitely be marking this shop down as my regular spot for the future. :))

Decent place for general service, but not if you love your bike.

Sold me a bike that's completely fallen apart several times over the past few years. Buy anywhere else unless you want something extremely cheap

I regret getting service from them.1. They charged 20 bucks for a donated wheel, to fit on my bike, but still that wheel wasn't suitable for my bike.2. When i told them it is very hard to pedal, they said it is due to the wheel rims not suitable for my bike/derailleur. But when i gave my bike to Landry's the service person there said it is due to chain not lubricated enough and they lubricated and instantly pedal was so smooth. So the person who inspects the bike here didn't know stuff fully, i guess. Not a good experience.

Great source for refurbished and new bones, equipment and repair, but also a great community fixture for rides, events and social change.

I had heard about bikes not bombs through a friend. Went there for the first time yesterday to get my second hand bike looked at. The staff was friendly over the call and in person and I felt welcomed :). JR thoroughly examined the bike, mentioned to me about the right size of bike for me. showed my how to fix the wheel right. filled some air in the tires and oiled the chain. also they didn't charge for it.My bike is ready to ride it and am very happy with their service.I would recommend a visit to anyone who needs a bike service or even to know more about bikes in general. thank you

Love this place. For small repairs to tune up's they are always reliable. Friendly staff, a lot of them volunteers. This is a fine organization that offers a great service of promoting bike ownership in the Boston area - and restored donated bikes for those who can't afford bikes in this country as well as a number of underdeveloped countries.

Went to repair a bike Andy is rude and disrespectful and racist. I will recommend people to shop elsewhere or not buy from them until Andy no longer works for the company.

Went here today and they were super nice! It was closing time, but they still did an immediate diagnosis of my bike (which had been sitting for a year) and told me it didn’t need anything except air in the tires, which they did for free. I really appreciate that they didn’t try to sell me on work my bike didn’t actually need. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Today I found the perfect bike - a refurbished Gazelle Squadra - at BNB. Kareem and I spoke for 30 seconds and he pulled down the Gazelle for me - it’s comfortable fast rugged. No photo cause it will be coveted.

I love BNB’s mission and business model. I was happy to donate a used bike to them while there to purchase a refurbished one for my wife. The sales staff was excellent and helped me picked out a good choice. Unfortunately that’s where the praise ends. They took the refurbished bike for a “safety check.” I stood waiting outside, and then in the bike shop. It took the staff over an hour to realize they had forgotten about me.They apologized and did not charge me for a used rear rack which was a nice gesture. However, I am sadly leaving an unhappy customer.

First time at Bikes Not Bombs, after visiting another shop in Cambridge, where I was told to replace the hub on my bike. BNB fixed it in record time, for less than the initial estimate. Bike runs great. Andy and his staff are super friendly, competent and fast.
