Great staff at the local branch but lousy loan underwriting department !Very slow and very poor communication !Got very frustrated dealing with a car loan and finally went with the dealership ! Even though I would pay a higher rate ! Very frustrating !

I've been a Commerce Bank customer for many years. I'm sorry to see some less than glowing reviews. I've been a customer of the Holden branch since moving here 5 years ago, and I find the staff to be sociable and helpful. I understand that not everyone is happy with the oversight of Berkshire, but the customer service is still there and that will keep me as a customer. Keep up the good work!

I was both a business and personal customer of Commerce bank for 7 years prior to the merger with Berkshire, and 1 year after. Since the merger, the focus on customer service and 'local relationships' has dissipated and been replaced by awful customer service and outdated tech systems. Online banking features have been halved, Berkshire statements are archaic and the new 'customer service' is to enforce and demand payment on every fee, regardless of circumstance or length of business relationship. If you are seeking a local institution that knows and cares about its customers, you should look elsewhere. Commerce/Berkshire Bank is not your local friendly bank, they are a mid-sized regional institution that would rather sever a long-standing relationship than yield on a dubious $35 fee.

I would not recommend this bank at all. They were very unhelpful, rude, and discourteous. After the first few times we shook it off as everyone has a bad day. After the next few times we realized it was they way they do business. Their systems and online banking were not very helpful either. They appear to be outdated and have a delay on postings. This makes checking your account inaccurate and can cause problems waiting for things to clear. We left for a bank that is in the 21'st century and we couldn't be happier.

I've been doing business with commerce bank for about 15 years now, and I don't have any major complaints, but I don't have any huge praise items for them either. They've screwed up my paperwork for my accounts more than once, and there were times in the past occasions where the Holden staff was not really overly friendly. There seems to be a high turnover rate at this bank, so you never really know the people very well before they're gone. Overall, a solid place to do business, but nothing really too exciting, which I suppose is a good thing for a bank!

Definitely a good bank, I love Commerce and their hours are pretty good, but I don't like this particular branch as much as the other Commerce Bank branches. It takes a long time to get anything other than everyday transactions done. It's sometimes faster for me to go to West Boylston even though it's an extra drive.
