Poorly ran, but not surprised since the owner Deborah is not into her business anymore. You can find quality childcare elsewhere in the Haverhill area. I pulled my child out rather quickly after witnessing myself how they run the center.

Wish zero stars was an option. Owner is superficial in the beginning (tells you what you want to hear; as time wears on, concerns brought up, and parental input given they become more and more rude, condescending, and lack accountability. -We felt very misled about hours; they changed thier hours since COVID to 9am-4p which leaves 7hrs for commuting as well as working. Not sure who has that kind of work schedule but certainly not us. On google, Basic beginnings own website, care.com, and even their own intake papers the hours are 6:30a-6pm. This was a huge deciding factor as my job requires flexibility in scheduling and can often leave late. But ofc they still charge the full $330/wk tuition even with reductions in hrs. -No parents allowed in the center at all--other centers do, even with Covid, that makes me feel uncomfortable...every center I've heard of has a welcoming, open door. Not that I've ever shown up unannounced/out of typical schedule but just knowing I can is assuring that there's nothing to hide. -My child attended for 6mo. In the beginning hated, it cried when we drove up-didn't matter who dropped her off, this did calm down a bit after about 3mo but she was never walking in smiling. And even 5-6mo in (towards the end) she would still say "no" when driving to BB. -Then the week after Christmas there was an email received on a Sunday night at 7:30pm (LESS THAN A DAY) that a COVID outbreak which "effected everyone in the center". Instead of saying, we will ask parents to test their child and the positives quarantine but the negative children may return so as not to cause disruption/hardship on families/children's schedules--THEY CLOSED FOR A WEEK. -Care concerns such as incidents where she was picked up with a horribly pooped diaper, rashes since starting there (she was in home care for a year prior and never had even a pink bottom), and runny nose with mucus crusted all over her face--I have pics of this in front of the building as I was so appalled I needed to show my husband via text immediately--see pics. Approach staff and met with excuses and deflection. -Got RSV. When we went to pediatrician to be Covid tested she was negative. Pediatrician asked anyone else sick at home--nobody was. She said does she go to a daycare as it's "rampant in daycares right now." When we reported to BB (Nona) she admitted there were multiple kids out sick w RSV and went on and on about how clean they are. Never asked about child. Nona stated she would be closing for the week because of it (didn't really care as we were keeping our child home regardless that week with her stopping breathing and wheezing). 3mo in the teacher approached me surprised with the fact my dgt knew her numbers--why did it take you 3mo to realize? They don't go outside enough, 50 degree days and I'd pick her up indoors, that's not cold with a jacket in New England. Asked why they aren't out and again deflection--"we went out earlier," to which I'd say oh but on nice days we usually pick up outside...and met with blank stares. No projects sent home, except Christmas we did get one project item and pictures which was nice...but all other papers sent home are always free draws/recycling. Teacher blew kisses once and my child who is able to wave/blow kisses/say bye looked at her confused--felt unauthentic/forced.

This was the most disturbing experience I’ve ever had. My child who loves school and loved the previous daycare of two years we had her in prior to covid-19, was petrified of being dropped off here. When asked why she said the teachers are angry and yell and mean momma! When the staff was alerted they were covering their tracks and their daycare and teachers without really verifying or listening fully to my concerns. It was the most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had and distasteful.Look elsewhere save your money!

The teachers are amazing, the facility is clean and the environment is one of love and growth. My children thrive here, emotionally, socially and educationally.

Run this place is bottom of the barrel. Staff is rude and the teachers are not warm nor welcoming. They never say hello to the parent in the morning ; not responsive to parents at all. Worst experience I ever had.

We have been at this daycare for over a year and a half and we love it! The teachers and administers care so much about the kids and it shows every single day. My daughter often hates leaving at the end of the day as she has so much fun. Parents are updated throughout the day utilizing a private app so can be in communication with the classroom whenever needed. Base Beginnings has been wonderful and we look forward to continuing to send our daughter and any future children there!!!
