I scheduled a side trip here as they are the only place within several hours drive to carry Xero shoes. They had what I needed and I was on my way with only a short stop.The salesman was very helpful and knowledgeable about the shoes. I would recommend this store.

I wanted to support a local business. I called ahead to see if they had higher end compasses. The front desk transferred to the outdoor section. I was told they did have the Silva Recon, so I drove almost an hour, only to find they didn't have it. When I told this to the manager of the outdoor section his only response was, "It wasn't me." It sounded like he knew who it was. I then told the staff at the front only to receive their apologies. Almost 2hrs driving in traffic. Waste of time and energy. I guess it's back to Amazon.

Amazing staff, returns are really easy, it’s a family business so it’s so much nicer than Dick’s and other corporate stores and they carry the same quality brands. They offer skate sharpening and pant length adjustments too!

Went to pick up Xmas gift they had on hold as our local Sam's was out of item desired. It was not a fun trip, with flooding, heavy traffic and driving unfamiliar roads in the dark, it was a very stressful trip. We didn't explore the store, just purchased item on hold. Staff was odd kept asking if I was using a card when I had my card in hand, had to request a bag for my purchase.

I wanted to buy a day pack with a hydration system, and I went to a few outing good stores in the Hadley area to see what was available. I never had one of these packs/systems before and I didn't really know what to look for. The staff at Sam's were incredibly helpful, far beyond the service I got at the other stores. They helped with the initial fitting requirements (as a short-ish woman, this was extremely important), discussed features, listened to my concerns and preferences, looked online to see what was available in the other stores, etc. While I really wanted to buy a bag that day at Sam's, I ended up needing to buy a bag online because they didn't carry the model that fit me best. When I received the bag, I was a little overwhelmed with the features and how to get it to fit correctly. I went back to Sam's hoping to talk with someone, and one of the staff graciously and enthusiastically helped me figure out all the fittings. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend shopping at Sam's for their service, selection, prices, and overall helpfulness.

Overpriced compared to online or even Eastern Mountain Sports down the road. Decided to shop there to get advice on best day hiking shoes for my feet. First helped by an older gentleman who immediately dumped me when a man just looking for regular shoes came in. He handed off to a guy who looked to be about 14 years old, and have noncommittal ambiguous answers to all my questions. Going to attempt to return or exchange what I bought because upon further advice on the fit, I found their advice was totally wrong and these hiking shoes will end up blistering my heels. Maybe they should hire people who actually have done some hiking to sell hiking equipment.
