If you're looking for the quintessential New England bitchy, rude, aggressive behavior, look no further. After waiting several minutes one December afternoon, Betty came to the door and hand picked which person she deemed worthy to enter. It wasn't me - who was in a cast using a knee scooter and barely able to stand. It was someone else who had walked up several minutes after us. Then she slammed the door in our faces without saying anything. We waited 10 minutes and called. Betty claimed she came out to talk to us which she never did. We continued to wait then Betty came out and started to argue with us about how she felt she wasn't rude all while rudely yelling. She may think it's ok to talk to everyone else like that but it's not ok to be abusive and disrespectful to people. The reason for my visit was to see Megan Hale, lash artist. She was almost an hour late for our appointment. This was my first time with her and she didn't ask me what I wanted in terms of lashes or if I wore fake lashes etc. She simply had me lay on the table and started to glue on the lashes she thought were best. I was quite disappointed once they were done as they were light and not at all what I was expecting. I'm used to wearing much heavier, curlier lashes. When I asked her how to care for them she just laughed looked at my daughter and said "ask her." Pros: During the visit she kept the conversation flowing. She can be entertaining and friendly and at times funny. She's easy to talk to and there aren't awkward lags in the conversation. The time literally flew by. Megan is gentle and careful with her hands making sure not to poke you. Cons: Megan gossips about everyone. And by everyone I mean E V E R Y O N E. I know that she hates the people who own the salon she works at (who can blame her), Hannah, the owner's daughter thinks she runs the place and makes Megan do her eyelashes for free yet makes Megan pay for her hair, they yell at Megan all the time and make her uncomfortable, she calls her husband ugly and that she married down, she says she's better than some clients but doesn't mind taking their money, she cusses frequently using the "f" word while working and prattles on about much more. This was all within my first appointment. My eyelashes were not completely filled on my left eye and the glue started lifting later that day. Within a day multiple lashes had fallen out. By day 13 I had only a few stragglers hanging on for dear life. At $120 I expected more than a week. Fast forward to my follow up - a fill appointment. I arrive at 12:30pm for a 12:30 appointment. It's 32° outside and the place is completely closed, lights out. I call Megan's cell and it's off. I wait for 45 minutes and receive and automatic message saying she will be "a few minutes late." Since I'm in a wheelchair and it's 32° and it's a process getting in and out of a car, I ask how long because I don't want to wait outdoors all day. Knowing she was late last time and she is already late this time I head to my car and prepare to leave. Finally, at 2:06pm Megan remembered she had a 12:30pm appointment and sends me a text saying she was only 5 or 10 minutes late. Hmmm which is it 5 or 10? Megan do you really think I believe your lie? Megan had to be the most unprofessional, disrespectful con artist I've ever come across. Her ability to maintain an on time work schedule and healthy boundaries are non existent. She's unable to distinguish truth from lies and has a poor work ethic. I do not recommend her or anyone at Alison Elizabeth's at all. In fact, I find the environment toxic, unfriendly, and sinister. Edit: I was sent harassing and threatening text messages by Megan and Betty as a result of writing this review.

Best ever place to get your hair done. Hannah is the master of all colorists. So lucky to have found her.

Love the salon...decor reflects the care of the owner, Betty. She takes such good care of her clients. She is flexible and always calls her clients back in a prompt manner. I had major surgery and Betty came in on a Sunday to do my hair...that felt so good after being in the hospital for 4 days. My mom now lives with me and she take time and care on her hair...everyone loves it. My color is so nice it has even fooled a few hair dressers because it has depth and shades of color. the foils are awesome they look so natural. Tina is a great addition. She adds depth to the salon as well as doing hair she does nails, tanning and those fabulous eyelash extensions!

Betty does the best job with my highlights and I love her! Great prices and always a job well done! ... If I still lived on the East Coast, she'd still be doing my hair!
