Went here to have the block of my 86 f150 4.9 hot dipped, new cam bearings, new pistons pressed onto rods, new freeze plugs, and the head reworked. I rebuilt the engine but needed the prep work done. Very professional and experienced. Painted the engine for free, and was on time! Overall very good experience and would highly recommend!Service: Engine building

I had them Dutcher rebuild the bottom end of my engine. He and his assistant seemed very nice and even suggested a small upgrade which was nice. They said they would take care of everything, but I had to end up getting all my own parts which I didn't mind and it also took them forever despite saying it should be a fairly quick turnaround time. In the end it still sounds like I have a bottom end knocking and after a relatively short amount of time my valve cover gasket is leaking. He also messed up a bolt hole and tapped it to american standard when the rest of the engine is metric (why not a helicoil to use the bolt that's supposed to be there). He helped me out with an issue free of charge even though I offered to pay him, which was nice, but then told me that even if I have issues with his work to not come back to his place ever again!!! That is the most messed up thing as I was nothing but respectful and never complained once! That is one the most messed up things I have ever encountered. I would look elsewhere, especially since his work seems to be hit or miss (from what my friends and there friends have experienced); when it's good it's really good, but sometimes it's not.

Dutcher has recommissioned two aluminum cylinder heads for classic cars I have owned. Both came out looking just like new, and it was a pleasure to deal with them. Highly recommended.
