My father and I visited recently on our annual trip to GB to stock up on Robin's unique and robust assortment of specialty licorice. We were assisted by the lovely Rachel who exuded a great sense of warmth and competence, as she deftly ascertained my father's preferences and curated a 1.5lb master pack of salty, chewy - and per dad's request - non-medicinal black licorice flavors and textures. My dad, a lover of people and their stories, asked how long she'd worked at the shop and our mouths collectively dropped when she told us it had been a meager two weeks! But how had she become such a connoisseur of black licorice and other sweet treats besides?! She listens attentively to her boss, the eponymous Robin, as she serves other customers, and even created an excel spreadsheet to support her confectionery study.
Ours was a short, sweet, and sincere exchange that made our happy errand more pleasant, and one that had the unanticipated effect of making one feel that much better about humankind. Thank you, Rachel!

Fun store. Stopped here today and had A KILLER dark chocolate peanut butter cup!

Every candy you can imagine is available. We didn’t buy anything because the prices were way higher than they should be. Some of the chocolates were $45/lb. It is a tight and slightly messy candy store. It would be a hassle to take a multiple kids in at the same time.
Wheelchair accessibility: Very tight

Fun shop to look around, but wouldn’t recommend any of the chocolates. My family was shocked by the prices (close to $15 for a single chocolate), and on top of that we were disappointed by the service. The workers seemed annoyed at any request and made the experience uncomfortable to say the least. Like other reviewers, we hoped that the quality would offer some redemption but it was genuinely some of the worst chocolate we have tasted. It seems that the chocolate stays in the display for weeks (or months ?), as it tasted stale and dry (and we can’t imagine that customers are purchasing frequently with the insane prices). We usually love to support small businesses but this was quite a let down☹️

Stay away from this shop, tourist trap! Prices for their candy and chocolate are just outrageous.

We had an incredible experience in this quaint, well-stocked shop. Eleanor and Adrian curated a custom selection of candies and chocolates for each of the children, carefully selecting based on their deep knowledge and the kids’ interests.

Tourist trap.
We ordered eight chocolates and were flabbergasted when informed at the register that it was over $60 for our order. Since there are no prices listed anywhere, we couldn't really argue and were too embarrassed to ask to put anything back. We reasoned that it could make sense since the appearance of all the chocolates made it look high-end.
We originally went in for fudge, since it's advertised on their window front. However, the fudge did not seem all that fresh, was pre-boxed, and there was no way to mix and match.
Later that evening we tried the peanut butter truffle - completely bland, the peanut butter had this awful, chalky texture. The two of us could not even finish it.
We then tried the almond toffee treat. Similar situation, super bland. We couldn't even eat half of one.
The pecan turtle was passable, but certainly nowhere near what we paid for it. All of the food we have tried desperately needs more salt to bring out the flavor.
Steer clear of this spot unless you want some vintage candy or sodas.

I always love coming here whenever I am visiting to pick up a few packs of violet gum (I’ve only ever seen it in person here) and look at all the fun stuff. This particular visit I had a question about a niche perfume that used to be sold there, and happened to have asked someone who was new and training. She was so sweet, and what I truly appreciated was how the owner immediately let me know she’d be right with me, but that employee was new- I was so impressed with how she advocated for her employees. I have seen /worked with managers or owners who would rather save face and let an employee sweat than step in. I’d always prefer to shop at businesses where the employees are treated well, and i’m very happy Robin’s is one of those places. And even if you’re not a candy person, there are so many fun gifts and things to check out.

I arrived on a Saturday afternoon during a street fair type situation. Love chocolate…love candy. Cute little nostalgic shop. No prices anywhere, which is fine. Price shouldn’t be a determining factor when you’re treating yourself…assuming it’s a treat.
$49.75 for 1 peanut butter cup, 1 peanut butter ball, 1 cashew turtle, and 1 piece of brittle.
I was shocked when I got to the register, but hey, it’s gourmet, and I’ll give it a shot. Inflation, location, all reasons to maybe charge $12 a chocolate.
Too bad they all tasted awful. The chocolate was dry and chalky. The peanut butter was dry and chalky. Everything was stale. So disappointing. Take a bite out of one…put it down, hopeful the next will be better. Nope, not that lucky. Each piece was as awful as the last.
As far as customer service…horrid. Attendants were more interested in folding boxes with their backs turned to the people in the store. You literally have to yell over the counter to get someone’s attention to sell you these disgusting, over-priced confections.
The only positive from the entire experience…a “free” travel toothbrush tossed into the bag?Cute. I needed something to get the taste out of my mouth after sampling those “treats,” so that was appreciated. Maybe include a bottle of water as well so people are able to swallow your chalky, stale chocolates.
Good luck. I’m the type of person that will give most places a second chance. Unfortunately, this is not one of those places.

The store is beautiful. A bit small and hard to enter with a stroller.
