“My father and I visited recently on our annual trip to GB to stock up on Robin's unique and robust assortment of specialty licorice. We were assisted by the lovely Rachel who exuded a great sense of warmth and competence, as she deftly ascertained my father's preferences and curated a 1.5lb master pack of salty, chewy - and per dad's request - non-medicinal black licorice flavors and textures. My dad, a lover of people and their stories, asked how long she'd worked at the shop and our mouths collectively dropped when she told us it had been a meager two weeks! But how had she become such a connoisseur of black licorice and other sweet treats besides?! She listens attentively to her boss, the eponymous Robin, as she serves other customers, and even created an excel spreadsheet to support her confectionery study.
Ours was a short, sweet, and sincere exchange that made our happy errand more pleasant, and one that had the unanticipated effect of making one feel that much better about humankind. Thank you, Rachel!”
