We found this motel to be substandard. The toilet ran constantly and we were told to "jiggle the handle." We said we'd been doing that all night, and thought the manager should know that the sink also stopped up and the shower head is half clogged. Taking the top off the toilet when I tried to fix it myself (since the manager just said to "jiggle the handle, that's all I'd do) showed that it's filled with lime deposits. She (Rhonda) exploded at me, yelling, "Do you think we don't know that? Do you think we don't live and work here? There's a hard water problem." I said I assumed you don't know or you wouldn't rent a room in this condition. (Consider a water softener???) The toilet seat is also peeling. This motel appears not to have been updated since the 50's or 60's. No amenities, tiny bathroom is cramped with zero counter space, bare sink with exposed pipes. Nothing functional or well-maintained. Broken window shade. We do NOT recommend. It was unpleasant and expensive. No staff on site except to provide morning coffee in the "lobby" plus supermarket "continental breakfast."

The rooms were, in all honesty pretty average, but the price was right. What made the experience great was the inn keeper. Rhonda was hospitable and went out of her way to accommodate us.The breakfast was perfectly fine and saved us quite a bit of time and money.I would definitely go out of my way to stay there again! Thanks Rhonda!

Do not go by website photos and / or reviews. This place is not well maintained, not clean, the room had the odor of dog urine ( carpeted floors ,) the bed had a sheet and then a very heavy comforter which was far too warm, with no options in between. The check in and check out are contactless which is fine, but the service was poor, and there isn't never someone on the property if there are issues. The "Lobby" is only open from 7:30-10:30, and the continental breakfast was sparse. There was a customer with two ( very sweet) dogs strolling around off leash which would have been an issue if my dog had been there.

WONDERFUL experience at the Briarcliff Motel. Our extended family was able to stay together with our Black Labrador, Scout, and enjoy a wonderful time by the fire in the evening and the most delicious coffee EVER in the morning. Rhonda is an incredible inn keeper and even left a few birthday goodies for my 10 year old niece on her big day! She is so kind and thoughtful and goes above and beyond to connect with her guests. We felt so cared for and comfortable. Thank you, Rhonda! We will return!

This place is simply incredible. The motel itself is nestled away in a quiet spot that has tons of open space for dogs. The lawn is wonderfully decorated with fire pits and lights that make the evenings very cozy and relaxing. Rhonda and melody, the ladies who run the place, are the nicest people and really made the stay amazing. Overall, a great experience which I highly recommend!

For $300.00 a night we made a simple request (3x) for a Keurig to be delivered to the room. Starting at check in at 3:00pm. Was finally told that "it wasn't going to happen". Wish we had stayed at the Holiday Inn down the road. At least coffee would have been included.

Stayed at the Briarcliff for a girls weekend away and had an excellent experience! Perfectly located close to everything, and great hiking trails. Rhonda, the inn manager, was so warm and welcoming! We can't wait to come back and will make it a tradition to stay there. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough good things about the Briarcliff. The most pet-friendly motel I've stayed at. We have loved staying here with our dog the last few years in the week leading up to Christmas. It's conveniently located near Ski Butternut and the breakfast is a great way to start the day. Love the retro-throwback vibe (I'm an old-soul myself) and Rhonda has always been accommodating. You can even use the year-round heated pool and hot-tub up the road at their sister property the Red Lion Inn!

I went to go visit my sister who was staying here. The rooms are SO cute.! Pretty blue wall with new carpeting. It felt so cozy.

This felt more like a bed and breakfast than a motel. The attention to detail by the Manager, Rhonda, is wonderful. She is warm and welcoming and clearly takes pride in the Briarcliff. I enjoyed starting my day in the cozy lobby with her and coffee and a bagel! She had wonderfully helpful recommendations about the area and its restaurants and activities. I live in a Manhattan apt where the doormen make my life easier, more pleasant and make me feel safe. That is what Rhonda does. The rooms are cute and we were able to catch the games we wanted to see. The motel is set back away from the road and yards away from great trail heads. I cannot wait to return.

Truly had the best mini vacation ever! Rhonda was so accommodating and so charming it was hard to not want to sit and talk to her for hours!!!We look for pet friendly places as we love our 30 lb fur baby and there are not enough places like this motel!Clean and bright and plenty of land to walk your pup, super fun fire pit lounge area, corn hole and if you mention Rhonda in town people give you free beer to take back to her to enjoy! Will 100% be returning and recommending to my fellow pet owners ❤️Food & drinks: Amazing restaurants and pubs within 3 miles

This place really deserves zero stars, just terrible. Dirty toilets, no ice ,no cable & a rude & condescending ‘Innkeeper’ (Rhonda) really made for an unpleasant stay.Bad began the minute we pulled up to check into our 2 rooms about 2:45pm. The Innkeeper happened to be standing outside the office and her first words to me were NOT Hi or welcome to Briarcliff Motel. They were ‘you can’t park like that’ (I had pulled up parallel in front of the 2 rooms we rented ,temporarily, ,to make unloading luggage easier)Then she proceeded to tell us check-in wasn’t till 3 PM (it was 2:50 pm) but that she would make an exception & let us into our rooms ‘early’. Just unbelievable‼️Once our luggage was unloaded I went & asked the Innkeeper where the ice could be found❓And this was the response I got, I kid you not: She literally almost sang (joyfully) “ Oh, we don’t have ice around here”It certainly was apparent to me the Innkeeper doesn’t enjoy her job & is a sour, unhappy individual ……….& we were the victims.Won’t make this mistake again, too many other choices of friendly, decent places to stay in the Berkshire area.
