I love the Co-op and have been a daily shopper since it first moved to Bridge St. So, maybe it’s my familiarity that allows these criticisms. The hot bar and salad bar need big improvements. The salad bar is boring and repetitious, sometimes even lacking a suitable protein. The hot bar is what needs serious improvements. Vegetables that are too it hard to cut with the side of a fork, soups that are unappetizing and often way too salty.I know that you’re understaffed and appreciate how difficult finding good creative's help must be but perhaps some professional retraining of the current cooks would do the trick.Lastly, along with everyone else, the overuse of plastic containers for prepared foods has to change.Thank you for listening.

Great selection, super quality especially at the meat and fish counter, super helpful, friendly staff. Perfect alternative to large grocery stores with an emphasis on local products.

The Co-op is the BEST! It's my neighborhood meeting place, and the daily prepared food is great! And on top of it, I can also buy healthy groceries--no negotiating super markets with their rows of plastic containers and impersonal checkout. Everyone has a smile.

I have to share that I miss the old store. The service remains stellar and there are lots of new items, but I'm now missing items that I used regularly, and prices have gone up, which is difficult for a person on an elderly, locked income. Nevertheless, I keep coming back because I value our purpose. I do hope the very best for all of you.

Gotta love seeing an employee on the sidewalk paying ZERO attention to their dog running into the road as cars go by. Grade A pet ownership!!Hold the leash a little tighter or maybe don't stand on the very edge where the dog has room to get into the road. And to get mad that someone told you to get the dog out of the road? The entitlement is outstanding!!

When I was a college student in New Hampshire, I enjoyed being a member of a local grocery co-op, so on a recent trip to the Berkshires, I was excited to see a quality, locally organized co-op here in Great Barrington. The co-op concept appears particularly popular in rural regions as it allows locals not only to pool their purchasing power, but also to source quality produce, meats, seafood, and groceries, often of a local, organic, seasonal, sustainable, and/or fair trade variety. Here at the Berkshire Food Coop, even in cases where items must be sourced from further afield, they take care to source quality products, for example non-GMO grains, cage-free eggs, or non-hormone-treated meats. When I stopped by, the selection was quite dazzling and extensive - a far cry from all the processed brand names I'm used to seeing at big-chain supermarkets - and prices were quite reasonable given the products' provenance. Best of all: a hot bar and deli serving inexpensive sandwiches, soups, and snacks, all with quality ingredients. A "Flag Rock" sandwich with pastrami, swiss, sauerkraut, and thousand island on rye was satisfying and a reasonable portion given the $11.99 price, while an Incrediberry (blackberry, strawberry, blueberry) smoothie with oat milk was indulgently rich and thick, not to mention packaged in a cute compostable carton. Service at the deli was super helpful and diligent too. Bonus: an outdoor terrace with plenty of seating in the warmer months. A solid choice not just for groceries, but for a decent, inexpensive bite here in downtown Great Barrington. Another bonus: two Level 2 outlets in the parking lot for EVs. They are only for customers of the co-op and the building that houses it, plus they each offer only about 6 kW of power, but they're totally free and much appreciated.

Pretty cool little grocery store. Prices are a bit high (but it's a co-op so I'll look the other way on that). It's clean and has a varied selection for a store this size. Lots of interesting items. The only complaints are that there were more than a few empty shelves, though this is somewhat understandable as I went on a Sunday and this store has lots of local goods. Also, while most employees were very friendly and helpful, there was one that I felt was quite rude. He wasn't directly rude to me and as such I won't name names, but it certainly did impact my opinion of the store, especially considering he was one of the first employees I encountered.

Great food, plus it's a CO-OP that gives back to many local organizations in the Berkshires. Lots of locally grown food, delicious sandwiches, as well as a juice and smoothie bar. Their website is also very helpful.

Sorry to say but I preferred The Berkshire co-op of the old days. I will shop at Wild oats in Williamstown. It's still has that small town we care feel.

Guidos is much better , fresher and bigger selections..The Co Op gave me a coupon for $10 off my next purchase and when I went back with the coupon they wouldn't honor it . I was told they messed up the wording on the coupon and it was a mistake. Unfortunately I had to suffer for their mistake. Guidos it is .

Lack of transparency. If they "really" wanted the customers to know that the sale prices are for "members only" they should put a sign at the door. In addition, stop assuming that customers knows this, and let them know at the checkout counter. No only they don't care you know this detail or not, they ask if you want your receipt. Wow, just blindly go shopping and don't mind how much it cost. Because people have money to throw away.
