Yikes. Owner of this shop was extremely rude. I asked about the price of a dress and was lectured on all of the reasons she needed to justify the price. Very condescending. A simple answer would have sufficed. Not worth the time.

Always find something unique and special at this shop. I stop in frequently and the owner is lovely and fun. My friend and I have a standing annual date when I’m up in Gloucester in June, to stop in the The Dress Code and shop for something that catches our eye. As far as bringing consignment clothes in to offer, it’s an organized system, reasonable reimbursement and as long as your clothes are well presented on hangers and clean, they’ll entertain quite a few items, unlike other shops I’ve experienced ~who flip through your stuff with an attitude-like they’re doing you a favor. This owner knows it’s her business model. Treat people with respect ~ and they’ll respect you. Love the Dress Code.

Been there many times, alone and with friends and family. Always an adventure, and you end up happily walking out with the most delightful and imaginative items. The personalities of the staff, including the talented owner, Barbara Koen, add a certain charm and fun ambience to the place. When you do go, plan to spend a bit of time there, perusing the racks and shelves of surprises that will await you, and take a moment to kibbutz with Barb. Boy, does she have some wild stories to tell! And tell her Lady Di from Cape COD sent you.

The owner Barbara is FAT PHOBIC! Beware, her biggest size in the store is a Large, & most of it is old outdated items that are cheap.. get it together & get more plus size clothing not everyone is a walking stick who eats plant food. Plus size is IN BARB. Get with the program!
