Classic stealership. Unrelated to this specific incident, I get calls from my mother every time she gets her oil changed here. They constantly try to sell her 1,500 dollars worth of useless services. Her SUV is less than 4 years old! Finally she was told her rear brake pads were low, I confirmed and told her to go get them changed at a local smaller shop. Instead being the trusting woman she is, she got them changed at this dealership. 500$ later, she got her rear pads and rotors replaced. 3 days later her rear brakes lock up while she was driving to work. She had to pay 80$ to have it towed in at which point Brian informs her they need to charge another 300$ for a new caliper. I called Brian and got involved. This car is 4 years old and if the calipers were carefully cleaned and greased that the caliper pins cant freeze. If the calipers are properly bled, the piston wont freeze. Only time this kind of failure happens is due to negligence or the car has been sitting idle for months/years. Brian is very good at evading all liability for his employer and informed me that the calipers were cleaned, greased and lubricated to factory standards. I have since inspected the original caliper and can tell for certain it was never cleaned properly and there is grease on the pads. Are you trying to get people killed?
