Made an appointment yesterday to apply for a passport & had my photo taken today. FORGET trying to apply online. I did that 6 times to no avail. Julie was a doll, helping me relax, fill out my application & take an acceptable photo. She made it a breeze compared to filling the application on line & she made my frustration disappear with her patience & great attitude. She assured me I will get it in the mail much sooner than I expected. Excellent service!

Love my local PO!

This post office has carriers that don't seem to know where the streets are. We regularly get other peoples' mail. We attempted to use premium forwarding, and received some poor Falmouth resident's mail. TWICE!

This post office, the main one on Main Street in Falmouth, MA, aside from having one of the rudest, self-entitled, angry, bitter, and clueless tellers in PO history (and that’s saying a lot), ALSO lost a package that was sent to me from California. Sent, actually, to my mother’s nearby condo because her complex has a 24 hour doorman who can sign for and accept all packages. So, it arrived at the Falmouth P.O., according to the PO’s own “tracking” service, but; “There will be a slight delay in the delivery of this package.” HUH? Why? When? More info please! Over the next three weeks, I called the PO every other day, and stopped in twice a week. FINALLY, it was determined, by some “supervisor”, that “the package WAS delivered, but the carrier had “neglected” to obtain a signature AND “neglected to” electronically scan the status of the package.THUS, there is no PROOF that the package was delivered. The carrier didn’t even know WHAT DAY IT WAS that he’d made his supposed undocumented delivery. A delivery, btw, that the doorman/receptionist at the condo complex says never happened. Because, when packages ARE delivered, they are signed for, noted in the Condo’s “Delivery Database”, then are IMMEDIATELY taken to the appropriate condo. If the condo-dweller is not at home, the package is left in the basket outside their door, unless the dweller has selected the “keep at desk” option. EITHER WAY, the condo reps SWEAR that the package in question was never delivered. In fact, the PO’s own TRACKING SYSTEM says the package HAS YET TO BE DELIVERED! So, here we are, FOUR MONTHS LATER. Every two weeks I get a FORM EMAIL informing me that “We have yet to locate your package, but are still working on the case”. Lord... It is one, small, insured package that contains something very special that I bought for my mother, on an online auction, to commemorate her 90th birthday. Which was on June 23rd. Which was two months ago. The package “arrived at the Falmouth PO” on April 23rd. FOUR months ago. It is well past time to collect whatever it is I collect on a lost, insured package. The item I bought for my mum is, of course, one of a kind. I. AM. FURIOUS.

Just your typical post office. Service is slow since there's usually only one person working the register (this is not their fault). Some people are friendlier than others, but they all do their job adequately. Don't come here if you're in a hurry, waiting in line can vary from 5-45 minutes because of being understaffed. Parking is very limited, they have a few designated spots out front but there's a free parking lot adjacently behind the post office that typically you'll find parking at (except summer months). My only critique is that when a singular staff members is dealing with a customer for more than 5 minutes at the register, they should call for backup so that the line keeps moving. I've never witnessed anybody call for backup even when there's 10 ppl in line, and it's a shame because the cashier is stressed and so are the people waiting in line. Hopefully USPS will realize that this location is understaffed and should have two cashiers at all times. Pro tip: if Falmouth's post office is slammed, go to the one in Woods hole (about 3 miles up the road) because i've never encountered a line here.

An OK US Post Office. It has beautiful murals depicting Falmouth history. While it has a somewhat confusing layout&the service can vary on who's there, it's the friendly neighborhood post office. People socialize. It tends to be short staffed, so if you have serious postal issues, be prepared to wait at least a half hour. If your mail gets lost... good luck. Parking is a challenge in the spring&summer. There are nearby public lots. It's alright, has a friendly neighborhood feel.

First, scour the four empty tables for the last address label. Not a single pen is available for your use, so join the queue with your unaddressed envelope. Approach the counter and be reprimanded for not having filled out the address label and asked to step aside while you use the one pen the cashier has. Join the unorganized group of people to the side of the counter all frantically trying to scratch down their addresses. Awkwardly figure out how to re-integrate with the main queue. Agent looks at your chicken scratch label and then types it into the computer and prints out a copy of it. The Falmouth Post Office is a Kafkaesque disgrace.
