This is about the abusive increase of prices at VIPTAX on their services. Also, the behavior of the General Manager, Maxwell Andrade, who was disrespectful, anti ethic, unprofessional, intolerant, rude, unable to handle problems and to deal with people. He became upset just because I complained about the abusive increase in the price of my 2023 tax return preparation compared to 2022. As a consumer, I have the right to complain if I feel uncomfortable or abused as a client. Just for everyone to understand my frustration, the E-File fee increased 100%, and Tax return preparation, 48.9%. Since the inflation in the US for 2023 was 3.4%. This increase is unacceptable. I also want to inform that VIPTAX charge $75,00 to do the tax return preparation in person. I sent an email to VIPTAX, I tried to understand why the price increased so high, but Sir.Maxwell replied saying: “You was too loud to the ABSURD and he couldn’t handle the situation peacefully”. When Maxwell doesn't have an argument, he tries to invalidate the other’s sanity. He actually didn’t answer any of my questions and seemed not interested in solving the problem.
Saturday, April 13th, I went to VIPTAX with my son to sign my income tax 2023 and get my hard copy. I signed my tax return with the assistant and she presented me with the invoice with the amount much higher than 2022. Then I asked her why the price was too high, she said: “Let me explain to you”. At this moment, the general manager, Maxwell Andrade, showed up at the room and said: I can explain to her. He printed a few pages and came to me saying that the system suggestion was $44.00 higher than was on my bill. I said to him that I didn’t want to know how much the system says, I wanted to know why the price now is much higher than my 2022 income tax preparation, since nothing changed. Instead of asking my question, he asked me if I wanted to pay the amount on my bill ($378) or pay the amount that the system suggested ($422). I told him that he was losing a client for nothing and he told me that he didn’t need a client like me that complained about price in front of another client.( when I was talking one client came in). I asked him why he didn’t invite me to his office to solve the problem. He said that I should pay and call from home to talk about the high praise. As I asked him a question, he asked me if I was going to keep mumbling. To test his ethics and character, I agreed to pay $422.00. He accepted the payment and gave the receipt. I quickly looked at the amount and it was $422.00, but I didn’t pay attention to the details. When I got home, I noticed that he changed the system suggestion price to $432 and gave me a supposed discount of $10.00 to pretend that he was nice to me and even gave me a discount.
I sent him an email questioning all the changes he put on the bill. (Attached are the 3 bills from 2022, 2023 and 2023 changed by Maxwell Andrade GM).
He had no arguments and replied to the email saying that I was too loud, which increased to the absurd. When I was there he said that I was mumbling. Anyways. I also asked him about the DBA and CORPORATE information on my bill and he responded that it is a discount information for when the client asks for a discount. Individual and DBA $15 and CORPORATE $50. If you ask, you get the discount, if you don’t ask, you don’t get the discount. This doesn’t make sense. He also said that he didn’t increase the bill more than $100.00 like I said. This shows that he doesn't know how to do a simple math $422-$296=$126. Over $100. He also said that I gave him $422 and the system amount was $432. So, instead of asking me for $10.00, he gave me the discount. This email he sent to me is incoherent and confusing.
I informed the assistant that I was going to leave my house only to sign my tax return, to have everything ready. And I went through all this. I attached a copy of the bills for better understanding.

If I could give Joyce more than 5 stars I would!!!Joyce is very sweet, knowledgable and professional. She made the whole experience painless. She is very knowledgable and very experienced. I asked some questions and he has very thorough with answers.She was so fast filing my taxes and even squeezed me in her schedule. This tax experience was pleasant and I left with a smile!Joyce did not disappoint and even gave me tips for the year ahead.I highly recommend her and will definitely be back next year.

I had one good experience couple years ago, but this year was just awful - no response, not reliable to get in touch, call back or schedule an appointment. I won't waste my time in the future with VIPTAX.

VIP Tax group is exceptional!!! They are always willing to help in a timely manner. Maxwell (owner) always revises his employees work to insure accuracy in every aspect. We have been working with Max since 2013 and have had ZERO issues. The entire staff is so helpful from the moment you walk in the door. This is my second year doing my taxes through them and I highly recommend them. Pamela is simply amazing and was so helpful both years. You wont regret going to them!

Women was very nice BUT claiming your taxes here is a little over priced! I called a head to get a price range for married couples and when I get there it's a much higher price , and they don't tell you they will still charge you 40$ fee if you decide not to go through with them after your results. If your looking just to see what your tax refund woulook like then HR block dose it for free

I rarely endorse business services but the service we received at VIPTAX from Ms Makiyama and colleagues was so satisfying that I couldn't help but endorse them publicly. The office was amazing, the services friendly, kind and professional and the overall experience was great. We were there to file our tax returns and get ITIN numbers. The fees were reasonable too. I can't recommend VIP Tax Group highly enough! 5 stars from my side!

I've been doing doing my taxes with VIP taxes for the past 3 years. Pamela always does an amazing job explaining everything is details and educating me on things I don't understand or am unaware of. They are always extremely flexible with my schedule needs. I don't have a lot of time to wait around and this is an issue I had with other places. Whenever I go to VIP, I never have to wait. They honer my appointment, always on time and extremely professional. I highly recommend their services. Everyone is extremely friendly and patient. I love going to their office, its always a pleasant experience. I highly recommend their services! Thank you guys for being so amazing!
