2044 Revere Beach Pkwy, Everett“Tom was so patient with me. It took me a while to decide if I wanted to invest in an entry light for my 110 year old home. No duh! The result is wonderful. It's so beautiful. Tom packed everything so well and gave me the correct length of support so it hangs exactly where it should with my woodwork. We love this home and the light adds so much joy. Thank you!”
“A gem of a place. Quality people doing quality work. I asked them to glue up and refinish my reproduction antique tabletop. The purpose of the glue up was to turn the 4 pieces of the top into a solid piece. I had removed the skirt before bringing the pieces in. Dan Jr sent me back home for the skirt and they ended up fabricating the pieces to make a full 360 degree skirt. It looks amazing. Then they finished it all with a nice mahogany color stain and light gloss urethane.”
“I love this shop. About 80% of the furnishings at my Boston home are from Upstairs Downstairs. There, I’ve been able to find a mix of new and old (antique or vintage) items. The owner, Laura, is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and has a sophisticated and elegant taste. I can’t recommend this store enough. For those heavier items, they also ship and deliver.Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this is a MUST SEE in Boston.”
“Such an amazing shop, with the warmest and most helpful customer service you can imagine. Getting our fire tools and firewood holder here was such a wonderful experience. This is one of those local gems that you don't want to miss.”
“Great little shop that is much bigger than it seems from the outside. They bring in beautiful antiques from Europe but also make some custom pieces or can modify pieces to fit your needs. Two full floors of antiques plus an outdoor area and shed. Worth a visit.”
“I visited this antique shop on July 31st this year and purchased the book "The Bartevians: A Boston family." I am delighted to have had the opportunity to read through the history of Pat's family, which eloquently narrates the remarkable story of the family and witnesses the hardships that America went through during the Great Depression and World War II. Thank you Pat for allowing me to share in your rich life experiences.”
“I had to take some time to write this and help promote Janice and Cal's cute little antique business in beacon hill. they are the sweetest elderly couple, super knowledgeable and explained to me the history behind each of their pieces. shop has a lot to offer but specializes in antique procelains. I bought a beautifulChinese embroidery from them 2 yrs ago and my mom got a pair of Dresden Lamb cup sets today. both will be treasured for years to come. makes me sad that there isn't more shops like this in this mass produced world.(the husband got yelled at for giving us too much of a discount so l gotta help him out here lol)”
“You can't always count on it being open exactly by the posted hours, but if you're near downtown Wakefield and it happens to be open, it's definitely worth your time to stop in. It's a small space but they use it well; there are knickknacks and cool antique pieces everywhere you look, and the owners are knowledgeable about what they sell and about the history of the town. This shop differs from other local antique shops in that it sells more small pieces and collectibles, rather than large pieces of expensive furniture and framed paintings. It's a much cozier and more welcoming feel than the showroom-style places nearby where you're scared to touch anything with a price tag on it. I collect vintage compacts and cosmetics and Un-Common Antiques has saved me a couple trips to Concord, as I can find the pieces I'm looking for here without the ridiculous markups and the long drive.”

1731 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge“The best store in Boston if you are I terested in transit, history or both! I highly recommend this store. All the things I have gotten from here were reasonably priced.”
“A true business man who stands behind not only his work but his word that’s nearly impossible to find today GREAT BUSINESS AND QUALITY everyone I met were all very helpful. GREAT COMPANY”
“This is primarily a shop that displays an impressive number of clocks for sale, and repairs clocks and watches. The gentleman and his wife who own the shop are old school, very charming, and very helpful. The owner/watch-clock repairman only changed my watch battery on the spot for $15, which is a fair price around here. And on a Sunday afternoon at that. But far more interesting and entertaining was conversation with other customers who were there for clocks and were obviously repeat customers. A first-rate place and conveniently located.”
“As a former client of Annette Hannon/'As Tyme Goes Bye', I cannot sing her praises loud enough after the great work she has done for my late mother and my family in Belmont over the last decade+, during which time she accomplished that which I thought at the time, was well neigh impossible, in organizing, evaluating and disposing of in a positive fashion, three generations of my family's accumulated Irish- Americana and myriad collections, through successful yard sales, her own shop, and well-focused donations. Neither the scale, level of disorganization, nor huge quantity of my late mother's various collections phased Annette in the least, to my everlasting positive regard. Annette and her assistants are hardworking, organized, focused and reliable, extremely professional, honest and fair with complete integrity.........she possesses all the personal and professional qualities so valuable in someone to help you organize, evaluate and dispose of your estate and family collections with the best possible results. I have recently recommended Annette/As Time Goes Bye, to another old family friend who is in need of help in dealing with her caretakee's art collection and is looking for an excellent professional who will provide direction and honest appraisal as befits their needs, as I know Annette will...”
“Absolute favorite funky vintage store. So many treasures and so much charm. We've gotten beautiful items for our home here and some wonderful gifts, including new (not vintage) cashmere scarves last Christmas that were a big hit. Beautiful place run by lovely owner.”
“Good antique store for all budgets, small but good selection of antiquarian books, large selection of furniture and glassware, vases, etc. Owner is friendly and helpful. Overall a great place”

318 Lincoln St, Allston“I don’t think I’ve ever worn a piece of clothing I’ve bought from Vivant that wasn’t met with an insane amount of compliments. They have some of the most unique and beautiful vintage pieces that are truly one of one. All the staff is knowledgable and friendly, and they have a great selection of jewelry as well as clothes. At this point, half of my jewelry collection consists of their sterling silver goodies, which I always get at a reasonable price. The store itself is like a museum, it is truly just fun to walk around and admire the clothes, flick through their record collection, and browse through the vintage ephemera. And if you need a pair of vintage pants that fit you perfectly, trust me they have them. Plus they are always doing events to engage with the community, bonus points for that. ❤️”

Joanne is a lovely women with a good eye for picking merchandise that is not soon in any of the stores large and small in our area! There is parking in 2 lots in the area or you can go by bus! The outside decor catches your eye! You want to go in with the window displays she does! Check this shop out!”
“Had the pleasure to talk with Wayne, who quickly helped me figure out what to do about a 100+ year old gramophone I had. Really honest and kind, and helped me out a whole lot. If you’re trying to figure out what to do with some old antiques and collectibles, a definitely recommend contacting central mass auctions!”

432 Common St, Belmont“Big Picture Framing (Derek at Belmont location) helped me with a difficult, small, dramatic oil painting. Derek really listens, provides relevant options for matting and framing, has a keen eye, and offers keen, sensitive advice if asked. The result with my small painting was amazing!! I sent a photo to the artist who was impressed and delighted. I have a modest art collection. I'm choosy about who frames it. I highly recco Big Picture in Belmont.”

26 Henshaw St, Woburn“Dan helped us pick out two beautifully refinished nightstands and did an incredible job reupholstering our victorian couch from the 1800s. All of their furniture is of the highest quality and at a reasonable price, which is a refreshing change from the all the cheaply made furniture out there. I can't say enough good things about Dan and his team and look forward to picking out unique pieces from them for many years to come!”
