We stayed for one night and it was disappointing overall. The room was tidy but our feet were black from walking on the dirty carpet. The front desk staff was extremely rude and it was very disappointing as we were excited for our stay and it was the first night of our vacation. No linens on the pull out sofa so had to go to the front desk. The location is great and restaurant next door is awesome but would not recommend or come back.

I would highly recommend staying away from this hotel. I stayed here for a weekend during a wedding, and it was a massive mistake. Just save yourself the pain and stay at any of the many other hotel options in town. The staff were rude and mean, and did not put the customer first. The hotel room also smelled moldy and had peeling wall paper.Rooms: The hotel room smelled moldy and had peeling wall paper.

When we were checking in we were told by the front desk clerk that our room had been upgraded. We weren't sure why, but we thought as long as we weren't going to be charged extra for the room we thought that was a nice gesture. When we first came into the room we were impressed w/how clean it was and nicely furnished. My husband had checked out the bathroom before I had a chance to. His response was, " you're really going to like the shower"! It was really nice. The shower had two shower heads and a spacious glass door inclosure. The room had all the amenities like a Keurig coffee maker w/some coffee pods, a mini refrigerator, a microwave oven, room safe, iron, ironing board, spa robes and slippers. The location of the Edgar Hotel is convenient because they're within walking distance to Stop & Shop and there is a restaurant next door. My only complaint was that when my husband had asked the front desk clerk if walking down to the stores in Edgartown would be a relatively short walk, she gave us bad information. She told us we could walk down to the stores in ten minutes. It actually took us around a 1/2 hour- one way! It was a good thing that we were wearing comfortable footwear.

This hotel is definitely overpriced for what you get. Our room smelled like mildew, the carpet was dirty and stained, and the bottom of the bathtub was very dirty. We didnt use the shower because it looked so unsanitary. In the halls of the hotel, the walls and carpet were dirty, and the hotel in general had an unpleasant smell. We were only staying one night, or we would have left. One last thing, we felt like the website portrays a clean and recently remodeled hotel. Our room had new furniture, but the bathtub was extremely old and looked nothing like the pictures. Just felt dirty overall. The price for what you get is ridiculous. Would not recommend.

I didn't have high expectations for this place and yet was still seriously disappointed. Ants in the room. Bad window blinds that don't go all the way down or block out the light. Weird thing with the tv channel guide where the names of the channels are partly obscured, plus half the channels aren't available. Low or maybe broken lighting in the bathroom. Sliding shower doors won't stay closed. Temperature control at the sink is tricky. Message light on the phone won't turn off. Noisy kids next door after 11pm. Only one plastic cup in the room and it was on the bureau, not in the bathroom. Room door won't easily close behind me because of something weird happening with the lock. No wheelchair ramp at the front entrance (I assume there's one somewhere but I just carried my suitcase up the steps). Good things: Free parking. Grocery & restaurant next door. Mini fridge, microwave & robes in room. But overall this place is shabby and the front desk isn't staffed after 10pm. I've recently stayed in several Courtyard hotels in different cities and that product is much more consistent, even if it isn't always perfect. Part of why I chose this is because it's a national chain, but I was really frustrated with the whole experience, especially because I saw on the Choice app the night before I arrived that my room rate had been reduced from $770 to $525, but neither Choice's 800 number service rep nor the Edgar's staff would honor the discount for my reservation. The Edgar Hotel put a real damper on my Martha's Vineyard trip.

So convenient location, walking distance to grocery store as well. In summer this hotel will be pricier and crowded.
