We recently had the pleasure of renting a beautiful home through Sandpiper Realty on Martha's Vineyard, and it was nothing short of amazing! From the start, the team at Sandpiper was incredibly helpful, ensuring our vacation planning was seamless and stress-free.One of the highlights of our experience was the dog-friendly accommodation they provided. It's not always easy to find a place that welcomes pets, but Sandpiper Realty made sure our beloved golden retriever, Doug, was as comfortable as we were. The house we rented was not only pet-friendly but also exceptionally clean, spacious, and equipped with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. The location of the property was perfect - close to beautiful beaches, charming local shops, and delicious dining options. We spent our days exploring the scenic surroundings and our evenings enjoying the tranquil setting of our temporary island home. What really stood out was the personal touch and attention to detail from the Sandpiper team. They were always available to answer our questions and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. We can't thank Sandpiper Realty enough for providing us with such a wonderful summer retreat. We're already looking forward to our next visit! If you're planning a trip to Martha's Vineyard, we highly recommend reaching out to Sandpiper Realty for an exceptional vacation experience.

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. We rented property 119 in Edgartown in August 2023. The house was in such disrepair. The owners have let it go for many years and it shows. The outdoor shower had peeling paint and mold. The outdoor furniture was rusty without cushions. The inside was dirty including all of the rugs. The matresses were very cheap and uncomfortable. The window air conditioners were filled with black mold. We took out one of the bowls to use for salad and it had leftover moldy food in it. Please see the attached picture. Depsite our frustration with communicating with Sandpiper -nothing was done. We were stuck with the rental while they blamed the owner for not maintaining the house. We were very disappointed. Do yourself a favor - don't rent from Sandpiper! When you click on the realty website and then rentals - it brings you to the same company.

Do NOT recommend dealing with Sandpiper. I booked a Katama beach rental house through them that was falsely advertised online -- condition was very rundown and it had a pretty gross bug problem. I needed to spend several hours of our family's summer vacation cleaning the house myself. When we sent through photos/videos of the condition to our Sandpiper rental agent Judy Murray, she agreed that it was unacceptable and that we should look for alternate accommodations, even offering to help. Judy confirmed in writing that "the owner would refund our money." Therefore, we booked last-minute accommodations for the back half of our stay and moved out of the house. Afterwards, we were refunded for 15% of our stay with no explanation. Then, they went radio silent on us. Judy was totally pleasant to us throughout the process, but in the end, she didn't keep her word and didn't take accountability. DO NOT USE SANDPIPER and definitely do not book 19 Navy Way in Edgartown.

Make sure you get everything that they say is in writing because they dont do as they say. I was told they would pay the closing costs and taxes and when they couldnt find someone to pay enough for my " as is" home they said they wouldnt pay for closing or taxes

Darlene is great. If this was a review about her it would be 5 stars but this is a company review. Our 1 week vacation began walking into a home (14,000.00 per week) engulfed in black mold. The basement was under water, home owner left 2 old vehicles in the driveway, clothes in drawers, food in cabinets and refrigerator etc. It was 86 degrees in the home because the small wall units were blowing warm air. This company explained that they have not been to this property in well over a year to inspect. The pictures on line were several years old!! Needless to say we relocated. This is where Darlene handled the situation putting us in another home quickly. This home was new and nice but no pool. We relocated (8 people) to the new home and continued our vacation. We spent the last day of our vacation cleaning this home (the first day was wasted relocating) We washed sheets, towels, vacuumed and cleaned the showers. We even fired up the grill to clean that as well.
Kelly emails us a week after we return home informing us about a scratch in the vanity top. It is made of stone. To scratch this top would take a metal object with some force. We were then told our 2000.00 deposit is being kept to replace the scratch. After asking repeatedly how we could be blamed, we asked if they could repair the vanity top. Nope. A complete replacement for the vanity was the only option. After many emails and a phone call (which Kelly hung up on us) we now own a vanity in Martha’s Vineyard. If this vanity does not show up to my home in 30 days we will go to great lengths to make sure our property is returned to us. It’s a shame that no one at this company is smart enough to look and realize that in order to scratch a vanity top, it takes some effort. That being said try to explain this to the owner and come to so kind of arrangement that makes sense. To this company the customer is always wrong. Not good business practices. In short, plan on kissing your deposit goodbye. Second, TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTING in the home before you go in!!!!!!!!! Lessons learned the hard way.

Darlene O'Neill went above and beyond in finding us an affordable and perfect rental for the week. She was professional and warm in all of our email correspondence. We were searching last minute and traveling with two dogs, not an easy task. She recommended a place she said was one of her favorites. That was comforting to hear even though the pictures were gorgeous. We look forward to arriving to our absolutely charming rental home. In the future I will call Darlene first and save myself hours of searching! Thank you Darlene!
