“Literally next door to a mall. We have a planet Fitness membership so we worked out there everyday. Plus there is a Starbucks & Chipotle in the mall. &. A panera not too far away. The staff were great, the hotel has a laundry room, which we used. It’s quarters only, which was tedious, but we got quarters from tue front desk. $3.50 for wash & $3.50 for dry.The room was clean & adequate. Nothing fancy. The bathroom was a bit small. There was a mini fridge & microwave, which was nice. Overall a good experience.”

“Took my fiancé for a night as a birthday treat and couldn’t escape the feeling that the property is a three-star hotel in a four-star wrapper. With a few exceptions, the staff seemed like they were running on autopilot. The room was vastly overpriced for the product delivered; this was a value problem, not a budget issue: we typically stay in very nice hotels, and the room rate far exceeded the level of quality and service delivered. At $663 for a night, including taxes and a ridiculous $34 resort fee, Mirbeau ended up being more expensive than superior properties in Boston - including the Ritz Carlton - for the same night. For that we got:- No drinking glasses in the bathroom; there also didn’t appear to be a heat source in the bathroom, so it was constantly chilly- Just one charger port in the room (that we could find, anyway)- Dirty wine glasses- Hair on the shower walls- Bare and loose fixtures, including the toilet paper holder, which is so obvious a defect that staff had to deliberately ignore it to refill the roll- Thin, institutional-grade paper products that were more at home in my first post-college apartment than in a four-star hotel- Cobwebs on easily-reachable lights and fixtures- Dining: as my fiancé put it, the bread was the highlight of a $200+ meal. I ordered a steak for $65 that was overcooked; I sent it back, then the second attempt was underdone...and served without utensils. They did comp the price of the steak, which I appreciated. The restaurant appeared understaffed and the server seemed rushed and unhappy to be there. My fiancé had the bouillabaisse, which was more of a soup with things in it and was very lean on ingredients.I spent nearly 20 years in hospitality operations, and it seems to me that Mirbeau tries too hard where it doesn’t count, and not hard enough where it does.”

54 MA-6A, Sandwich“We had no complaints about our stay. Super convenient to have a grocery store across the street. We felt it was great for what we paid. The staff was super friendly. The room was clean. If I wanted to be nit-picky we had a room at the end of the row and the Wi-Fi signal wasn't strong. Would definitely book again.”

867 Iyannough Rd, Hyannis“Nice location to get to the beaches. Free breakfast and parking are a plus. The room was not cleaned after the first night but it was the second night. Rooms are spacious and clean.”
“PROs: The location is great, and the rooms themselves are clean and have clearly been renovated. The rate is good, and so if you're looking for a truly decent place to stay near the beach at a fair rate, this is probably a good spot.
CONs: There are just details that could benefit from some tightening up, and that in my mind keep it from being a spot I'd seek out again. The wall Heat/AC unit was fussy to say the least. We reset it three times, and it finally operated as it should. When we arrived, it was cold outside, and the room temp was in the 50s, so its needing that much troubleshooting was a bummer. Similarly, despite literally downloading the manual from the web, we could never get the in-room coffeemaker to brew. It's a Keurig knock-off, and it shows. And when we wanted a late night snack, the vending machine wouldn't take bills, just coins.
I love these renovated old-school motels, but when they're not traditionally operated, meaning you don't check in with a human on-site, things really do just have to work for a customer to feel great about the property. We've stayed at several over the years, and while the attempt at excellent was there, the bummer in my mind is that it just wasn't. I hope that a year from now I read that all of these wobbles have been resolved. I'm rooting for Team Sandy Neck.”
