They arrived within the time frame, followed directions...wish they took more time picking my produce, but the energy I saved just having to put the groceries away=priceless.

I was exceptionally disappointed in Stop and Shop in E Longmeadow today. Very depleted produce section. Lots and lots of empty spots. A clerk was stocking shelves in Canned Vegetables: he had a cart of broken down boxes and then his dolly of full boxes. He completely blocked the entire aisle. I said to him, I am just moving your cart of boxes, so I can get through and I got a really dirty look from him. Not an I am sorry, nothing but the dirty look. Dairy section was also depleted. I get to the self checkout and the thing freezes halfway through my order. Of course it says help is coming. After five minutes, I threw the stuff back into my cart and went to another lane. Surely S & S can afford to have one clerk oversee the 10 or so self check lanes?? There was no one in sight. I will be shopping across the street at Big Y in the future. This store has been below par since the strike.

The man at the deli cutting my cheese was scratching his head and touching my cheese again. Very poor and unsanitary practice.

The only other two reviews here begin to scratch the surface for how bad this S&S is. I've been to a number in the Boston area but this one makes those look like Valhalla Frankly the shorter list to prodce here are things this store does well (spoiler alert: not much). But as in all instances the fish rots from the head. This is an issue that begins at corporate and makes its way down to the store level. They have clearly not taken the Amazon/Whole Foods threat seriously and it won't be long before they start shutting them down. It so happened that before the issue I had with this location there was a small CS issue I needed to address with the Big Y directly across the street. The people at Big Y were responsive, understanding and addressed the problem immediately, no questions asked. I attempted to address an issue with the manager Brian Yeoman and he made it into a federal investigation: "Lets discuss it", "where's your receipt?". Argh. Forget it. Immediate needs can be taken care of at Big Y and other needs at other places. All the Stop & Shops are terrible. This is just the bottom of the barrel.
