ngl i grew up going to this store nd i loved it because of how unique and random it was, nd i also loved the smell. But i was so sad to go into that store with one of my friends just to find out that you have to be 18 or up or be with an adult to even go into that store •-•

This is a fun and quirky 99¢ shop. You can find clothes, hardware, toiletries, kicknacks, and fish here. Most of the things I found were more than 99¢. But the prices were low and there were a lot of unique items.

If i could give this place zero stars I would, it's such a terrible place to shop, everything is so cheaply made. The name of the store is "99 cent store" but NOTHING absolutely nothing costs 99 cents. I went in with a friend and they had a few shelves of fishes that they were selling, these poor fishes were being held in such a bad condition, they were never fed, the water they lived in was so dirty, and the small containers they suffered in just broke my heart. Those fishes were so maltreated, and they still kept the dead ones up for sale. Such a TERRIBLE place to shop at, you could go litteraly anywhere else and have a better time.

This store is not your average 5 and dime. They have many many items from clothing to pots and pans to sneakers to miscellaneous plastic goods and so much more. The staff seems to be very helpful and attentive. I only purchased a couple Beware of Dog signs, but my transaction went smoothly. I would think this is more of a buy all neighborhood supply store. The prices seemed reasonable. I Give East Boston Center 3 Stars.
