We have been customers of Wignall Animal Hospital for over 40 years and they have always taken wonderful care of all of our animals (dogs, cats, gerbils). They are always very patient and caring with the animals.

Vet did not know what was wrong. Came in for suspected mange & was told during the visit that the simpatico trio, which they put him on, prevents that. I feel they could have told me over the phone, but instead I was charged $240.00 for a quick exam. $88 to shave hair from 1 pad on paw and medicated pad for $46, which I found on chewy.com for $17.00. So, feel like I was very much over charged for services received.

I have become somewhat well acquainted with Wignall this past year as both of my cats have become patients.
The staff here are always very friendly and kind - it’s clear that everyone who works here loves working with and taking care of our furry friends/kids. The vets are patient, and explain things well, letting you know options and associated pros and cons. Additionally, I’ve never felt judged bringing my cats here - I think it’s easy, especially when a pet is in distress, to blame yourself at least a little for what’s happening to them, whether it’s a sign you missed, something you could have done better, something you didn’t know, or even just falling behind on their regular checkups (because let’s be honest, it’s easy to procrastinate those when there isn’t an acute issue and they hate traveling.) But they are always happy to help, and wonderful about answering all your big and small questions.
I can also say that the vets here exhibit a great deal of integrity. I had brought one of my cats here about a year ago, but this past spring he started having issues with and blood in his urine, and a trip to a different ER vet confirmed bladder stones, and recommended surgery not necessarily that day, but certainly sooner rather than later; they also started him on a prescription diet to prevent future stones (the rx food can also potentially dissolve existing stones, depending on what kind they are, but that usually takes weeks to months and is generally not recommended in cases like my cat’s.) Since Wignall was his regular vet, I scheduled a pre-surgical consult to confirm the course of action, and then the surgery with them as soon as it could be done (approximately a week and a half after the ER vet visit.) In that week and a half, a miracle happened. The vet called me after I dropped him off for the surgery and after they performed the pre-surgical exam and told me that based on what they were seeing at that point, they no longer recommended surgery.
Now common sense dictates that of course you do not perform invasive surgery unless absolutely necessary. But I have been in this world long enough to know that there are people and businesses who can and will take advantage of ignorant and vulnerable people. Everything was all set and I literally never would have known, and they could have made a tidy profit that day. But they did the right thing, and while I shouldn’t specifically have to point it out, in this day and age, I feel like I kind of do.
I cannot recommend Wignall enough.

Wignall is always able to get us in for a same-day appointment if we call in the morning, a big difference from our previous vet who often told us to wait 2 weeks for an appointment, even when our pup was sick. The doctors here are always thorough, and the front desk staff is kind and helpful.

I brought my cat to them because she was having a difficult time breathing. They would not see her. They gave me pamphlets. They say that they don't do "payment plans". So they are just not going to see an animal that is clearly sick. They are not good!
Later on I received a call from someone saying "that I left before they could offer me an appointment". That is BS! They already said that they don't allow payment plans. As soon as I said that I don't have the money they would have refused to make the appointment. No one is asking them to treat the animals for free but they don't think. Not every that has pets can afford to pay $300 or $400 in full right then and there. If you can't pay in full your pet has to suffer. This is all veterarians.
I am hoping that I can figure something out soon. I don't know what is wrong with my cat. All I know is that it involves her breathing. I am praying ?? that she doesn't die before I can figure something out. I don't know what else to do. I have called a bunch of vet clinics/offices in the Lowell/Chelmsford area. They all say the same thing.
My cat died in my arms on 9/11/2024. If these "Animal Care Professionals" would have seen her earlier in the day, maybe, just maybe they might have been able to help her. She died SUFFERING! ??????
She could be a pain in the butt but I loved her.
I WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS!

Terrible, still not sure if my cat got antibiotics or his rabies vaccine. Nurse weve known a long time says no didnt end up being infection, on checkout when I asked them why i was charged, the.receptionist insists she asked the vet herself and yes he got them??? But really who knows??

The staff are friendly as most animal workers are, and I was really glad that the first place I called had openings so soon! Now I know why. The greedy people who own the place charged me $100 to give my dog a $15 booster shot a week after a $250 annual checkup. The levels of greed and audacity are sickening when people are struggling to afford rent and groceries. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They will grossly overcharge you for everything.

The vets office is terrible! They tried to mage me pay OVER $1000 for X-rays … meanwhile my cat is fine. Complete and total RIP OFF negative stats should be an option. I already changed gets for my dogs and I’ll be bringing my cat elsewhere also. Terrible money grubbing hacks
