I've had an account for over 8 years, during which time I rented a water cooler for a monthly fee, assuming that at some point I would pay if off (i.e. a rent-to-own option). When I asked recently why I was still paying a rental fee, I was told I could pay off the cooler for $70--which is when I realized that after renting it all these years for over $1600, they were still asking for a payoff fee. I called last month to complain and was finally assured that the rental fee would stop, but there it was again this month. Absolutely predatory consumer practices--ReadyRefresh is counting on people being too busy to check their bill carefully. Most customers would assume a rented cooler would eventually be paid for in full--a good-faith consumer policy--not that they would be charged endlessly for it and then told they still needed to pay it off. We have been customers for about 4 years. This weekend my water cooler bottom lever clamp has been leaking air and I called for a single replacement part. The first customer service rep was so rude and kept having me trouble shooting then when I told him I just needed a single part he said I need to order from Amazon. I called a second time, they said we needed to reactivate our account and get a delivery if I wanted a new part. This made no sense as that would cost more in materials and gas and man power (wages) than just mailing me a new part. She then told me they don't even do replacement parts. My husband even tried getting a new part and they were less than helpful to him and basically said he could go pound sand. This ONE PART is no where on the internet. I literally need a single part and no one can help to the point where I'm going to need to get a whole new water cooler. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Also- they raise their prices more than we raise our gas prices.
