I started bringing my dog to this vet at the beginning of the year and was initially very pleased with the service. My dog often experiences gastrointestinal issues, such as diarrhea and rapid drinking that leads to regurgitation. Concerned about potential parasites, I took him in for a check-up. They performed a full blood panel, and I was relieved to hear that all his vitals were perfect. After paying $350 for the appointment, I went home to await the results of the blood tests.
A few days later, the vet called and informed me that my dog was very sick, citing dangerously low red and white blood cell counts. I was advised to take him to an emergency vet immediately. After leaving work early and traveling an hour to the emergency clinic, the vet there reviewed his vitals and was perplexed. She said the blood work did not match my dog at all and insisted on rechecking the levels before considering drastic measures like a bone marrow transfusion.
Thankfully, the re-test revealed that my one-year-old pup was healthy, and his blood work was normal. However, this trip to the emergency vet cost me over $400, only to find out that it was a lab error. The next day, I returned to my regular vet to share the good news and discuss my concerns about a possible mix-up with another dog’s samples.
During my visit, the front desk staff were visibly shocked. One employee mentioned she had encountered issues with the lab before, though nothing as serious as this. I was told that the vet was out that day but would be informed and call me later. After a week without any communication, I returned to inquire and was told that there must have been a misunderstanding; the staff member never intended to have the vet call me.
When I asked about reimbursement for the emergency vet bill, I was taken to a private room. There, I was informed that the hospital should not have mentioned a lab error, implying I had no way to prove my dog was healthy and had not miraculously recovered.
Feeling frustrated and dismissed, I retrieved my records and left.

Hope your animal can’t walk and needs to be put down. They will tell you to come in a week. What a joke. Anywhere but here

i just spoke with a lady over the phone asking about dental treatment and was completely taken back by her nasty attitude. Just by her rude tone and clap backs, i would never take a pet here.

Dr.saxon and her techs Kara and Amy are amazing. They have been taking exceptional care of my dog for 12 years. Any concerns I have brought to attention has been addressed promptly and efficiently. I’m grateful for all of the love, patience and care they have provided to my dog.

Time after time, we have been met with care and compassion from their experienced and long term staff. They know our pups inside and out and have been there for the best and worst. We wouldn’t go anywhere else in town. Support your local Vet! Dighton is lucky to have Meg & her team.

We bring our cat here for check ups. Everyone is really nice and it’s very clean. We didn’t have to wait at all.

One of the vet techs is incredibly rude and the other is disorganized/doesnt seem to know what she is doing. One of them had me drive all the way to the office to pick up a script just to tell me when I arrived it wasn't signed by the vet yet and couldn’t be picked up. Come to find out later that week it had been ready the whole time. They also wouldn’t fax my scripts to the pharmacy because of some “watermark” issue. After so many unpleasant experiences with the rude and incompetent vet techs, I had had enough and called another vet to switch. When the vet called to retrieve the paperwork the vet tech started prodding them aggressively with questions saying “what, are they switching vets now?” “They were just here Monday for bloodwork” and was simply speaking of us in an unprofessional manner. This confirmed my opinions of them and why I was making the right choice to leave. This place seems to be more for profit than anything as visits were 10min long and usually cost $250 since they push bloodwork. The vet should really look into this as she will likely continue to lose more customers due to her rude staff. After reading other peoples reviews I am ashamed I ever gave this establishment any business and let them touch my dogs

This is a long review but it's important to relate the full story.Over the years, we've taken several animals, both dogs and cats to Dr. Saxon and have had reasonably good luck. However, the techs were always a bit condescending and abrupt. I always just sort of wrote it off as them having a rough day, etc.In March of 2023, one of our cats was diagnosed with diabetes by Dr. Saxon. This requires several months of glucose testing and insulin adjustments. Things were going OK and I got a call at the end of October after having a glucose level check performed and the tech told me that our cats glucose levels were low and that might mean that his diabetes was going into remission. She told me to reduce his insulin injections from 8 units 2x/ day to 4 units 2x/day and to come in in 3 weeks. I specifically asked, that's November 17th, right? She confirmed and said, "Yup, we'll see you then." and we got off the phone. On the 16th, I called the office because I wasn't sure of the time of the appointment on the 17th. When the tech (Ashley, I believe is her name) answered the phone and I asked about what time to come in, she launched into a vicious tirade about how I had no appointment and that no one told me that I did and that there was NO WAY that anyone told me to go to 4 units from 8 units and that I was wrong on all counts. She told me, "I'm going to go get the chart and see what was really said."A moment later she came back on the phone and, somewhat humbled said, "So it was me that you spoke with and I did tell you to go down to 4 units and that you needed to bring him in for a recheck in 3 weeks, which would be the 17th."When I asked her why she said all those mean and incorrect things to me, she got even more rude and insisted that I was wrong and she was right, even though she JUST verified with HER notes that everything I said was completely accurate.I kept trying to de-escalate the situation and just get a time to bring my cat in and she INSISTED on continuing to argue with me. When she finally wore herself out, she said, "OK, our next available appointment is on the 22nd, do you want a reminder call this time?" Disheartened and just wanting to end the abusive call, I agreed and we got off the phone.I made other arrangements with another vet with whom we have a good relationship and my cat is now doing better by leaps and bounds. While Dr. Saxon's heart may be in the right place, her staff is rude, argumentative and just downright mean. I thought that it might have been a fluke, but it's clear, given the other reviews here that this has been going on for some time and that Dr. Saxon doesn't care to do anything about the way her patients are treated by her staff. No wonder there are never any cars in the lot and the other vets offices are so busy.
