There are a lot of places that claim to be seasonal and offer creative dishes. Few deliver the way the pheasant does. They have a cozy environment which is great for an occasion or just celebrating the weekend. Great wine list and good options. Local secret.

This place is top tier. Everything is done at a high level. The food is outstanding, the wines are beautiful, and the people taking care of guests make the experience even better. The vibe is relaxed in this 250 year old farmhouse and it's a phenomenal place to enjoy a special evening to the fullest. Make sure to check out the Dunn & Sons Wine Shop too. You're welcome.

A truly unique and memorable dining experience.The first thing I noticed upon entering was the fire in the cast iron wood stove. It could have been a gas fired wood stove. Likewise the fireplace in the adjoining bar area. But it wasn’t. As if to say that “here at the Pheasant, we are willing to put forth the extra effort to ensure that our guests have the truly unique and memorable experience we envision for them.” In this instance, they certainly succeeded.From the Negroni made with Plantation Rum (as opposed to gin) which really brought forth the grapefruit flavor of the Campari, to the Red Velvet Beet Cake and Chocolate Pot de Creme, each course was indeed truly unique and memorable.Not beholden to the chef in this instance (as per usual) because I was the customer and not the server, I requested and was granted the early release of the focaccia. (They prefer that you order everything at once. As does our chef, but in our case, that never happens, lol.)Early on in my career as a server, I worked in a high end Norther Italian restaurant in Owings Mills, MD; near Baltimore, that I thought had the best focaccia. Clearly I was wrong, because that at the Pheasant was better.Likewise the experience as a whole. A few weeks earlier I was in Disney World, where, after a good bit of trial and error, I had determined that the best restaurants in the world (Disney’s in this case) were to be found in the non-Disney, but Disney adjacent, hotels, the Swan and Dolphin. Specifically, Shula’s.This was better. Thank you ?.

One of the best places to eat and exist around Dennis. Warm, cozy, great cocktails and wine, and run with so much care. We go almost weekly year round.

Service was great, drinks were amazing. The house dirty is an amazing take on the cocktail. I had the pork with the XO sauce and was floored at the flavors. Can’t wait to go back.

Five star dining right in the heart of Dennis. New England faire meets small plates. Great to go with a group and share family style.Very cute, intimate space. Not a bad dish on the menu.

We recently planned a Bachelorette dinner out at the Pheasant.The restaurant was beautiful. Moody vibes, exactly what we were looking for. The atmosphere was warm and cozy on a rainy Saturday night on the cape. The exact feel we wanted. There was a lovely hum to the restaurant filled with happy people deep in conversations.The food was straight out of a magazine.We were encouraged to try plates and eat family style by sharing the plates from the center of the table. The food was so good, we enjoyed each bite. It was truly the exact foody experience we wanted for our Bride to be. For me the food was very delicious and bursting with flavor, probably one of the fanciest meals I have ever had.The menu of offerings gets larger as you read down the menu. So you could decide to order separate plates from the offerings towards the bottom.One of the major reasons we picked this particular restaurant was because it could accomodate our group's diverse dietary needs.The Pheasant was able to answer our questions ahead of time for Gluten Free and Vegan options. Sometimes one in the same and sometimes not. Something that is gluten free may not be vegan. Fantastic dinner. The restaurant is beautiful. It is reminiscent of Hen of the Wood in Waterbury, VT (both vibe and food quality). The mussels on toast was one of the most delicious dishes I’ve had in a while! Look forward to our next visit!

I do not usually write negative reviews, but feel like tonight's experience is warranted. I am a local and was excited to try The Pheasant and have been waiting for the perfect trip out. Made a late reservation thinking it would be less crowded and more enjoyable. Our drinks originally took a decently long time, but with one bartender and a full house, that's to be expected. Our issue solely was with the food. Ordered the bread and butter- delicious, the pickled farm vegetables were odd to say the least, bright pink and hard to even eat. Finished our meal with the rib eye ($42), which is listed as being served medium rare, but we asked for it to be cooked medium. The steak came out rare. I am more accustomed to rarer meat, but this was far too rare even for me. Asked for a box and cooked it more at home. Maybe Labor Day weekend wasn't their finest moment, but unfortunately they have lost some local business.

One of the best meals out I’ve had in a while! Everything was so delicious and thoughtfully prepared that it’s hard to pick a favorite, but Uli’s Mushrooms were absolutely to die for. Fantastic wine list too! Great vibes, cozy and a little more upscale without being stuffy— a perfect spot for a cozy date night or a memorable dinner with friends. Oh, and Karen is the sweetest!
