This group and some of their volunteers talk very ugly about people they've met who have tried to save puppies or dogs. They are rude, have one sided stories and I wouldn't adopt a plant from them. Rescue groups should have a good reputation all the way around. These people are nasty.

Read the Negative reviews first as they are 100% accurate! Today I had an appointment here at 2PM with my 28 year old daughter and my friend Lisa. We showed up on-time for our appointment only to be greeted by a very judgmental woman , maybe in her late 50's early 60's. Wish I got her name. She could have been the coordinator. From the minute we walked in, she had such a negative vibe. She doesn't even know the dogs that arrived and doesn't even know me and within a minute she made some uneducated comment like "the dog just isn't feeling it" even though Levi was all up in my face kissing me! Levi was cute, calm and I was strongly considering adopting Levi, but this woman killed the experience for me. I had her bring in another dog as well - Dixie - and this woman made the 3 of us uncomfortable that we left after viewing 2 dogs! This is a nice place but this woman ruins it for many. I reached out to a few other people too and they have had negative experience as well and have gone elsewhere. Even one of the volunteers adopted elsewhere!!!! When we left the 3 of us spoke outside and all agreed this woman needs to go. She is ruining the place. I will reach out to the owners a well and advise them of same.

We have slight PTSD from our previous dog that had to be rehomed due to her aggression. It was heartbreaking for all of us but she got to the point where no one could come into our home without having to crate her or muzzle her. Two years later, we finally decided to adopt a new pup. We were adamant we needed a good temperament and wanted to avoid any 'working' breed dogs or breeds that tend to be aggressive. We were looking at various pups on petfinder when my husband saw an instagram link to Shultz Guest House. They had so many adorable pups and all lived onsite. We made an appointment, Martha was very accommodating - helping us find a date we could all be there (family of 5 with teens who work crazy hours). She brought us to a visting room and discussed our situation/needs and we mentioned the few pups we saw online we were interested in. Her descriptions were very helpful and they matched up perfectly with each dog we met. She advised against seeing too many dogs in one visit as it can really spin you around and you start to confuse or blend them together. We ended up meeting 4 dogs that day. But the first one we met was the one we feel in love with, Beans!! He is exactly as she described and fits in well in our home (fingers crossed - it's been exactly 1 week). So a big thanks to Martha and her staff at Shultz's Guest House. They're doing amazing work. Had it not been for their organization, Beans (and many others) would have been euthanized in a kill shelter down in TN.

Schultz's had a great selection of rescue dogs available for adoption at their event at Clay Subaru; the volunteers were so compassionate and kind, looking to find the best homes for these sweet pups. ❤️

Been looking on line for a small dog (young or adult) to adopt. Have heard good things about Shultz's Guest House, their volunteers and the care and cleanliness of the facility. No luck yet in finding my forever dog but I am hopeful.

Such a wonderful place! They’re so caring and careful to find the right dog and the right family to match! We love the pup we found there (and who found us), and couldn’t be more happy about the whole process.

Adopted a little dog (shrimp- now penny) - impressed by the process- thorough, efficient, warm. Place looks beautiful- well maintained and spacious. When we came one group if dogs was out for a walk, in two other pens dogs were being petted by staff or volonteers. Very impressive.

I just received the most rude and hurtful email reply from Robin at Shultz's Guest House who told me that I was a neglectful dog parent for simply inquiring about resources for re-homing our dog. As explained in my email, our dog is the love of my husband and I's life, but unfortunately we are welcoming a new baby and our dog has a resource/guarding and startle reflex issue that makes her not a good option for a family with young children. It has taken us all the way up to our baby's due date to be able to contend with this awful fact. In Robin's email she insinuated that I had made the decision overnight to re-home our dog even though my husband and I have been a wreck for months contending with the fact we might have to give her to another home. We also have baby proofed are entire home with gates and safe spaces for our dog to coexist comfortably with our child, but still feel it is not responsible of us as parents to put our dog in a situation that she will not likely excel in. Robin's words exactly were: "You are looking to re-home your best friend? I hardly doubt that Zelda is much of a friend if you haven't retrained her regarding her resource guarding and such. You have had this companion for 4 years and now that it's crunch time with a new baby coming soon, you are giving up?" If Robin even knew that amount of time and financial resources my husband and I have exhausted consulting with behaviorists, attending trainings, and seminars on how to integrate dogs and babies together, she could never accuse us of this! Furthermore, every behaviorist we have consulted with has told us that unfortunately these behaviors aren't trainable and that our dog would do best in a home with no children. I'm so hurt and upset at the things she said to me especially after sharing that I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and so heartbroken over having to make such an awful decision at a time that should be so happy. I am completely appalled by this organization and will make it known the way I was treated!
