Worst vetco ever literally couldn’t give my 9 week old puppy her vaccines because apparently she needs to go to the er to tell me she’s perfectly fine and that they don’t recommend me to going to them because that’s so stupid just for waste whole tons of money when she’s fine

I’m giving a 3 star review because I received my services and left the store happy. This vet clinic at petco is more a pop up style compared to other petco locations I’ve been at just for a FYI! You will wait in line. It moves quickly!
The older woman veterinarian who was working on Saturday June 1 2024, in my opinion should not be working at this place or she should specifically work with small pets. As I was waiting in line take she was already staring me down giving me these dirty looks. I figured no big deal maybe just a bad day but I seen how she was with the other animals & thought hmm something is off. Anyways when it came to my turn the vet assistant took my dog. I have a 122lb male cane corso. He walked throughout the store with zero issues let people pet him, he is a friendly boy. You could immediately tell that the Vet was either scared or she had an issue with my pet. The vet assistant was holding him and his head so he would stay calm during the exam. My dog only shook his head because he didn’t like her sticking the temp gun inside his ear., she stepped back like he was going to do something. When he showed zero signs of any aggression. She had nothing but an attitude with every word she said , she was rude, and I mean come on just from the dirty looks I was getting just standing in line . That was enough for me. This lady in my opinion should not be working in a field that requires you to handle big animals. If you’re a vet & you’re frightened then you need to pick another profession. She didn’t even try to pet him or be friendly with him to make him and her more comfortable, she tried to be sneaky and sneak around him to do what she needed to do which I mean who does that? Any vet would be friendly with the animals to create a bond . In the end I got his vaccine that I needed. Great visit other than the rude veternarian at this place. Hopefully they can do something about her.

I went to petco to buy some fish for my new fish tank. The worker assisting me was very nice. He asked me if I had the water to test from the fish tank and I didn't. He said that we can try a couple fish. His exact words were.. if they croak there's a 30 day guarantee on the fish and they will test the water and help me get it right. Then he tells me I need to get a minimum of 3 fish. I take the 3 fish home and after just hours of the fish being in their new tank they were dead. I called petco and told them they died and the girl over the phone said.. yup you have 30 days just bring the dead fish separate from a water sample. I went back with my water sample and this was a different worker now. He checked the water and his exact words were.. this wouldn't have killed the fish but the nitrates are high and because of that I can't give you a refund. The workers should stop telling customers that the fish are guaranteed for 30 days because obviously it comes with stipulations. They should say it's 30 day guarantee as long as the water passes our test. No instead the worker I had knew I had a new tank that the water wasn't tested and still told me it was ok to fill it with fish because of their 30 day guarantee. I tried talking to the manager there but she just referred back to the fish boys. I called customer service when I got home. They were completely useless. They were going to offer me coupons. I told them I didn't need any coupons because I won't be shopping at their store anymore. The only reason I gave it two stars is bc most of the workers are very nice. It's also very expensive. Never again.

Today we came in to buy some fish and met Ben!!! not only was he knowledgeable about the fish no matter what I asked about he seem to know about everything in the store with detail!! He went out of his way to help us never once did I feel rushed or forced to buy anything!! yet I bought so many things that I was not there for because he took time to explain the benefits of the reward system perfectly. in the end I ended up saving over $150 it's nice to meet people that like their job and are knowledgeable really think he could've ran that store by himself. "Bottom line is you have a great employee on your hands treat him well" My Husband says I say make him management or lead of training at all your locations.The world needs Bens!!

Thanks for nothing - we go to get our dogs nails trimmed all the time there and with 10 min before a an appointment this lady wouldn't trim ONE of my dog's nails that literally takes way less than 10 minutes, historically anyway. Guess we won't be back. She spent more time telling me she wouldn't be able to do it than the time it would have taken to trim them. I should also mention... She was in the back for quite some time with nobody around before she actually came out to talk to me. Think that wasn't planned? Lately it just feels like people don't want to do what they're getting paid for.

I went to Petco this morning and bought 2 dogs treats and there was a sign Mix and Match 20% off. Got to the register and the woman running the register was already upset because the register was slow to start up ( Mind you this is 10am Sunday morning) once she rang everything up I said I thought it was 20% for mix and match. My fault I didn't read the fine print. So she proceeds to use her WalkieTalkie over the loudspeaker in the store. What an embarrassment !!! I don't understand stand now a days no one has any courtesy for the customer. Well anyway I didn't get the 20% off but I did walk away embarrassed. Thank you to the register woman. I hope she had a wonderful day.

Just went to buy a fish and was told I needed to wait a week.. then suggested a product for the tank that says fish can be added immediately after. Uneducated, unprofessional staff.
