John's Car Service came recommend by another local car service facility. Obviously has the respect of their peers. Known locally as an alternative to the dealer for German cars. John got me scheduled over the phone, and when I came in a few days later processed me quickly, and sent me on my way. Got a call later that afternoon with an initial diagnosis, estimate range for repair cost and schedule. Was pricey but he wasn't pushy or anything. Chose to move forward. John called a few days later when the car was done. Gave me his findings, came in under his estimate, processed payment over the phone and a contactless pickup at my convenience closed the deal. Auto repair tends to get a bad rap. I felt comfortable at John's Car, felt he was honest, and the way the car is running would get me back.

John did contact me to work out a credit based on the cost of the parts, after he reviewed the charges and determined that his supplier was not providing the best pricing. His diligence in trying to get a fair outcome is notable and deserves mention.

He had my car for 3 weeks to change a relay that was causing the fan to run the battery down, and strung me along every week saying he'd finish it by the following Monday. After figuring out for myself what the problem was with a brief online search, I showed up on the 23rd day and told him I was taking the car back. By noon that day, he finished it up so that he could charge me not only for labor, but $530 for a $179 fan module, $85 for a $47 relay, and $185 for a battery.Caveat Emptor.

Recently, on a 90+ degree day, with our 2 year old grandchild in the back seat, the main belt in our vehicle slipped off, disabling the power steering and air conditioning a few miles from John's shop. His shop was the first one we came upon, so we limped on in, which truly turned out to be a blessing. When we explained our predicament, his initial concern was our grandchild in such heat, telling us to bring the child into his office where he had a fan running. He then immediately attended to the situation and repositioned the belt within a half an hour, charging us a nominal amount, and sending us safely on our way. John saved the day!
