Horrible customer serviceI’ve always loved Buttonwoods but, today I went in for a birthday present and while waiting for it to get wrapped, I heard the older woman helping me say I had a nasty look on my face. Clearly she didn’t think she said it loud enough for me to hear, but I did. Extremely rude for an employee to talk about a customer in that manner in front of their face. Will not be giving business to this store anymore.

Great selection of books, toys and specialty giftsI purchased two knit caps with rechargeable lights on the front, so my daughter has light at night when she walks her dog. This place has unique products!!

Looked for a book series first on Amazon, yes Amazon, and the series was back ordered. Thought a friend of mine was crazy to suggest trying Buttonwoods. It was right before Christmas so had to wait for help, but once someone was available, they took some time and said they would find it, but might take a few days and I would need to leave my number. Long story short, I am glad I did. They found a supplier and I had the book in four days - and cheaper than Amazon.

If I need a little escape from the busy work day, I love going into the inviting, cheerful world of Buttonwood. Every season, there are so many things to peruse and explore—and not the usual stuff you see at the big box retailers/booksellers. The selection is thoughtful, unique, hand-picked—the kind of unexpected, artful treasures I love to give to friends as gifts. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and more than happy to steer you in the right direction. I love all the recs they’ve offered me, including a recent novel about a restaurant owner in Maine. I feel lucky to have this little gem in my home town.

Buttonwood has been the "go to" for good books, great birthday/hostess gifts, cards etc for as long as i have lived on the South Shore. Their staff is well read and can always recommend a great read; their festive gift wrapping is the icing on the cake. All the stress of "what to get" when those birthday invites come pouring in for your kids is solved by a trip to Buttonwood!
