Absolutely enjoyed visiting AWSC in Chatham on a rainy day. Definitely go online and book tickets ahead of time since they will be sold out! My 7 year old son, as well as my husband and myself, took full advantage of reading the exhibits and learning about the research that they conduct. The staff members we spoke with were very knowledgeable and eager to share information. My son had lots of questions and they answered them all and used visuals when they could. Learning how they tagged the sharks and then how they found the tags in the water afterwards was very interesting. My son was eager to purchase a hat and other items from the small gift shop in order to have the proceeds go to the conservatory. Highly recommend this destination.

Small place that packs a big punch!I came here with my son on 7/29/23. The conservancy was great. Awesome experience with lots to take in. The staff were very friendly, highly educated and were right there to answer any questions. One gentleman came over and explained the entire tagging process to us. Whether you're a local or visiting from out of state. I highly recommend stopping in. Looking forward to going back again soon ❤️?

We visited on July 24th and had a great experience. The exhibit is small but packed with stuff. We spent about an hour inside and everyone in the family (8, 15 and 17 year old kids) enjoyed it. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and really made our visit a great experience. I highly recommend paying a visit if your in the are.

The museum is small but contains a lot of information and different types of exhibits. There are videos, interactive screens, a full model of the first tagged shark, skulls, etc. The guides are friendly and very knowledgeable. Only $10 for adults and kids 5 and under are free. I spent about an hour and 15 min there. Great for all shark fanatics like myself.

Visited the AWSC on 10/9/2021. It was thoughtfully laid out with just enough information, videos, pictures and shark items to totally keep your interest in both their work and the research on sharks, in particular the great white, that they are doing in conjunction with other non-profit groups who are concerned with the plight of sharks and the oceans. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable, answering a variety of questions on everything shark. Would recommend a visit to AWSC to anyone who is visiting or living on the Cape.

Small but cool! I definitely learned a lot about sharks the day we toured the center! We had 4 kids ranging from 1-10. The two older kids 8 and 10 obviously got the most out of it but it helps that there are a lot of visuals (displays, photos and video clips.) The kids asked us a few questions. I have to say they said it was ok but later in the night I quizzed them. They were easily able to spit out a few things the learned that day so I would say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Heather, the person who checked us in, we really enjoyed talking to. She amde us laugh, we made her laugh. We lingered for the last 15 minutes of our visit just chatting her up about how she got into sharks and she has some interesting encounters! Thanks Heather for educating and entertaining us! Why not 5 stars... very small. No actual tanks with baby sharks on site and it cost us $30 to get in but it lasted about 30-40 minutes total. In my opinion, not enough bang for my buck.

Excellent, interesting, informative. Education and research mission worth supporting with your visit. An hour allows you to pretty thoroughly take in the exhibits.

Very friendly and passionate staff. It's a small place, good for kids to learn about the great white and it's place in the world. They also show what kinds of things are found in the ocean that not only harm sharks, but all the fish life in general. Would go again to support the effort. And they even have a youth program and internship programs available for people that would be interested in sharks, especially the great white (one of my favorites).

Excellent family outing. The Shark Center is full of interesting information and small exhibits about sharks. Especially the local great whites. While not huge (takes about 30 minutes to see everything) they packed a lot into the space, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They're doing important work there dispelling much of the misinformation and myths about sharks. If you're in Chatham and looking for a short, family-friendly outing, check this place out.

Small place with loads of information. If you like sharks, want to know the history of sharks in Cape Cod, or just looking for something to do, definitely go support. It will be the best $22 (for family of 4) you spend that day.
