My husband and I stayed here for a weekend in September for a wedding. Rick and Tom were incredible hosts - from making late check-in extremely easy, to delicious home made breakfasts both mornings - they made us feel so welcome. I would highly recommend the Captain David Kelley House.
Noteworthy details: Breakfast was homemade on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Each morning during breakfast Rick and Tom delighted their guests with entertainment. They are fabulous!!

For the quintessential New England get away, stay at the Captain David Kelley house.
This historic house is beautifully decorated with immaculate landscaping and cozy rooms that are sure to keep you warm, inside and out. The hospitality, regional knowledge and personalities Tom and Rick provide will make your trip comfortable, easy and unforgettable. We are sad that we did not have the opportunity to enjoy breakfast with the other guests but Tom and Rick always accommodated our early schedules by saving us a few delicious homemade scones (seriously the best scones we have had in our lives). We can’t wait to return to Cape Cod in the future and have another great experience with these two at the Captain David Kelley house!

If you want a charming, historical building with proprietors who deeply care about your experience look no further. The owners couldn’t be kinder or more delightful.
In addition, the location for beaches and natural splendor couldn’t be better.
I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

Great bed and breakfast that we visited a few months ago. We remember the stay so positively that we wanted to leave a review. There is absolutely nothing to complain about and it is at least as great as in the photos. All clean, cozy, comfortable, well located. The hosts are super warm and friendly. Get ready for something special when it comes to the Scone Wars! These are worth a lot of praise, and not just from a culinary point of view! Many thanks to Rick and Tom for the wonderful time!

Can't say enough about how wonderful Captain David Kelley B&B is!!! Rick and Tom are wonderful hosts. They are warm and welcoming and always willing to assist with any questions, reservations etc, you name it! The morning "breakfast with a show" is worth the trip on its own. Absolutely loved our time here! Obviously thoughtfully appointed rooms and common areas. These gentlemen thought of everything!

We just returned from a fantastic weekend at the Captain David Kelley House, managed by Rick and Tom. From the moment we stepped through the door, their warm hospitality enveloped us, making us feel like cherished guests in their home.
The cozy atmosphere of the inn, coupled with the impeccable cleanliness and tasteful decor of the rooms, provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway with my family. The rooms were quiet and the beds were so comfortable! Even the playlist for the background music playing throughout the inn was thoughtfully compiled, adding an extra layer of ambiance to our stay. (Music snobs will be happy here!)
And let's not forget about the breakfasts! Each morning, we were treated to a delicious 3 course meal that included the most incredible homemade scones we've ever had. Rick and Tom's culinary skills truly shone, making breakfast a highlight each day.
Overall, our weekend at the Captain David Kelley House was nothing short of perfect. Their attention to detail and genuine warmth made our stay truly memorable, and we can't wait to return for another visit.
Nearby activities: 5 minute bike ride (or car) to the beach. 10 minutes to downtown Hyannis

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of spending three delightful nights at Captain David Kelley Bed and Breakfast, and I cannot express enough how wonderful our experience was. The historic charm of the house, dating back to 1835, set the stage for a truly enchanting stay. From the moment we arrived, hosts Tom and Rick made us feel like treasured guests. Their warm and welcoming manner added an extra layer of magic to our visit, making it clear that this is not just a bed and breakfast, but a home filled with genuine hospitality. Tom and Rick's commitment to ensuring a special stay was evident in every detail, turning each breakfast into a memorable experience. Speaking of breakfast, the morning spread was a culinary delight. From delicious fruits to scrumptious scones and perfectly cooked eggs, every meal was a feast for the senses. What made it truly special, though, was not just the food but the lively and entertaining company of Tom and Rick. They infused each meal with their unique brand of hospitality, making us feel like part of the family. The cleanliness of the place was impeccable, and we were fortunate enough to be the sole occupants on our first day. When we expressed curiosity about the other rooms, Tom graciously took us on a tour, showcasing the old-world charm that permeates each space. The attention to detail and the personal touch in the decor spoke volumes about the care and love they've invested in making this historic house a home. Our visit happened to coincide with the holiday season, and the house was adorned with festive decorations that added an extra layer of warmth and cheer. Rick took the time to share the fascinating journey of how they acquired the house in the first place and the extensive renovations it underwent over the years. It's evident that this is not just a business for them; it's a passion project that they've molded into something truly extraordinary. Adjacent to the bed and breakfast is the charming 1856 Country Store, a delightful extension of the experience. Here, you can find everything from home decor to old-fashioned knick-knacks, and of course, the temptation of Cape Cod saltwater taffy. It's a perfect complement to the overall charm of the place. One of the highlights of our stay was the friendly competition of "scone wars" between Rick and Tom. Each day brought a new and delectable variety, and we had the privilege of being the judges. Needless to say, both scone masters left us thoroughly impressed. In conclusion, our time at Captain David Kelley Bed and Breakfast was nothing short of magical. Tom and Rick have not just created a bed and breakfast; they've crafted a haven of warmth, history, and unparalleled hospitality. Their passion for what they do is infectious, and we left with not just fond memories but a genuine sense of connection. If you're seeking an experience that transcends the ordinary, look no further than this enchanting haven created by Tom and Rick.

I enjoyed the Scone wars, I enjoyed their warm and friendly manner. Their other guests reflected their mood, so it was an all around good time. You cannot go wrong at all by staying here. I would only recommend you book more than one night as you will only experience one show and one chef's scones. I would go back, but I would ensure I got to taste the other chef's take on the scone. These gentlemen are owner operators. Therefore, they really do care if you have a comfortable time. Thank you for making my little vacation more comfortable. Haroula and Ken

WOW! This B&B is awesome! My husband and I went to Cape Cod, while Hurricane Lee was looming off shore, just waiting to pounce. We were pleased with our choice of places to stay. And of course, the scones and the scone wars were awesome!! This place is worth the trip to Cape Cod, I’d give this place two thumbs up!!Rooms: Spacious, clean, comfortable, homey,

This is our "go to" place on Cape Cod and we have been coming to the CDK House for at least ten years. The ambiance is fantastic, thanks to the hosts, Rick and Tom, who do everything in their power to ensure your stay is memorable. The location is handy for beaches, restaurants, shopping, and yet is nestled in a quiet, historic district, where probably the only noise is the sound of the laughter generated by Tom & Rick's "entertainment" at breakfast. The antique-filled rooms are beautifully appointed, comfortable and immaculate. The historic house has attractive covered porches and lovely grounds. This is a popular place, so book early if you are planning a visit, and if for no other reason, go for the scones ! You won't be disappointed.

We would be remiss if we did not, once again, record accolades for two of the best hosts we have ever encountered. Tom & Rick were born to be inn keepers! After several years away, our late summer stay at CDK House was wonderful. Even a day of rain did not dampen our outlook as we enjoyed seeing old friends and sharing in their scone wars.. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a centrally located inn, with wonderfully comfortable rooms and a breakfast you cannot beat. Where else can you get all of that and morning entertainment? Thanks, guys, for all you do.

We just left the most magical stay with Rick and Tom. What a welcoming, comfortable and fun environment! The scones were divine only to be out done by the presentation. We could not recommend their home highly enough. Come for the scones but stay for the song and dance.
