Great tribal and "oriental" rug place. Definitely not your typical shopping experience for Oriental rugs ... This is definitely not the place for generic stuff....its where true authentic patterns and methods are used in curated and commissioned selections

Honest, trustworthy, and reasonable prices for high quality authentic rugs. No silly 80% off "sales" but rather a wide selection with knowledgeable staff. I stumbled into Yayla 30 years ago and have been buying rugs from Chris and his team ever since then because the team stands behind every purchase. The one time an issue arose, Chris resolved it in a respectful and professional manner. These folks also support multiple charities that provide jobs and educational opportunities rather than handouts. Chris and his wife have been able to seamlessly and successfully operate their business while helping many others over the year. I'm proud to donate to these worthwhile programs, My only regret is that we have no more space in our home needing rugs because every one we have purchase hold up well over time, can be cleaned easily, keep the floors warm in the winter, and enhance our home's appeal. Its a pleasure working with Chris, his wife, and the team.

Yayla is a unique place: for nearly half a century, Chris has worked in the rugs business after spending extensive amounts of time in all of Central Asia. His knowledge and that of his staff (Karmaa; Ercan for repairs) is unmatched. In the lasr few decades, Chris has focused on SUSTAINABILITY (in the pure sense of the word) developing his own designs with communities in traditional rug-weaving cultures, who then weave his rugs with NATURAL dyes and fibers, using the expert hands of PEOPLE IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES whom he has known for decades. You will always be warmly welcome at Yayla and can be assured of finding a fresh new rug that will match your greatest dream, and at a realistic price, with the confidence that your purchase directly supports traditional communities. The single drawback (for me) is that I seek some older designs which have reportedly been discontinued for decades...It is wonderful to have the objective knowldege from Chris and I may well end up owning a new rug rather than fulfill my uneducated fantasy/illusion...Namaste ?

This is the place to go! Very friendly and helpful staff, and the rugs are the best I have seen. There are so many that are so nice it is hard to pick, but they patiently let me try several at home. Beautiful traditional and contemporary designs with stunning, subtle colors and shimmering gradients.

Amazing place!Owned by a awesome family guy who actually works there. They source the rugs straight from Afghanistan from craftspeople that they empower and create education and scholarship programs for their families. They gave us alot of time and attention. Even let us take Rugs home for free to try out. A+ customer service. The rugs are phenomenal, authentic, very high end, awesome quality.

These are really unique and high end rugs, with quality and service that matches their price. They are very happy to show you any rug in the house, and have a deep knowledge of the history of the patterns - we got one small runner, the design of which is over 2000 years old and came from a rug found in ice caves in Siberia. But they have everything from traditional patterns to very contemporary ones, each more beautiful than the last.As well, I love that the sales also support education and development in the weaving communities. These are rugs to last a lifetime.

It is dangerous to go in there. Every time I go there I find something I want. It is like being in a candy store only many times more beautiful and more delicious. It is a treat for the eyes and for the soul.
