The Charles street location was my go to market and I was sad to see it close. But the Cambridge location is great. Carrying the same meat products as well as some of Wulf's fish, which is sushi grade. And the woman with short hair who works on Saturdays will also melt your heart while selling you the best veal cutlets.

I was recommended by a neighbor to come here for raw marrow bones for my dog, and was blown away the first time I went in. Beautiful grocery items as well as knowledgeable and super friendly staff. They even asked my dog’s size to make sure the bones were cut to a safe size. Its become a weekly staple for me and the cuts of meat are leaps and bounds better quality than even Whole Foods.

Savenor’s has the best meat in the world and the service is superb. I would especially like to thank Christopher. He goes above and beyond every time. He is a top professional, kind, intelligent and a superior representative of Savenor’s.

Great service. Staff very helpful and. knowledgeable. Great cut of lamb. Definitely pricey for most items. However, the meat and coldcuts are worth it.

My Mom was a loyal Savenor's customer back in the day, when we lived nearby when my Dad attended Harvard Medical School in Cambridge MA. I always remember the wonderful stories of my Mom running into the famous Julia Child (she's 6 feet tall!!) who was 'French Chef' on WGBH TV to all of the Homemaker cooks de cuisine Française in 1970s America. Thank you and God bless you, Savenor's for lasting so long, and most of all, Chef Julia Child who blessed us mere mortals with the Art of French Cooking! You were a pioneer and role model. My Mom gave me my first cookbook a labor of love co-authored by Julia Child and Simone Beck "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" as a gift. I did at least learn how to prepare a proper omelette, and once, a good Hollandaise! Bon Appétit!

The dry aged ribeye steak was phenomenal. Really hit the spot. One 1 1/2 in chunk was enough for 3 portions (with pasta), too! I'd definitely come again just for this.

I've admired this Butcher Shop for years when I lived in Cambridge. I'm finally back in Massachusetts for Christmas from Berkeley for the first time in years and wanted to order my prime rib roast from Savenor's. I called looked at the online order form, but the photo of the prime rib didn't reflect what a proper prime rib usually looks like, so I called for more details. The man who answered the phone was so full of attitude, cocky, didn't have the time of day. I asked him if I could chose which end of the cut I receive (loin or chuck) and could the bones be cut off and tied back on. These are pretty standard, typical requests to make for his cut, and have been easily accommodated by multiple different butchers in the Bay Area for years. The guy said that they had too many orders. Said that I could put my requests in the comments, but couldn't tell me if they would do them or not. Said they had thousands of roasts and wouldn't be able to tell me. I said hey these are pretty typical requests can you make them or not? It was so clear that they don't need or want my business, so don't worry Savenor's I won't bother you with my in-person or my mail order business anymore. So much for the best butcher in Boston.
