The MIT Press Bookstore, established in 1980 and located near the MIT campus, is a unique retail bookstore managed by a university press. It offers a diverse collection of books primarily published by the MIT Press, including the "Essential Knowledge Series," which covers a wide range of important topics. In addition to MIT publications, the store features carefully curated titles from other publishers in fields such as art, architecture, computer science, cognition, neuroscience, and linguistics. There is also a cozy children's section filled with engaging non-fiction and STEM-based learning books. Visitors to the bookstore often describe it as a "smart people bookstore," where one can easily spend time exploring thought-provoking titles. The store’s layout allows for easy navigation by subject area, enhancing the browsing experience. Located conveniently near the Kendall/MIT subway station and the MIT Museum, the bookstore is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. While the store has received praise for its impressive selection, some visitors have noted that the staff can be overly attentive. Overall, the MIT Press Bookstore is appreciated for its unique offerings and welcoming atmosphere, making it a great place for book lovers and holiday shoppers alike.
I consider it one of the best bookstores in the region. It's worth visiting and before going down, stop at the cafe on the ground floor for a nice cappuccino.

Great experience. We were able to get some amazing books for our library in Jamaica at Western STEM Academy. Thank you for having us.
